Cuisinart Power Advantage Plus 9 Speed Hand Mixer with Storage Case

I have an excellent stand mixer from Cuisinart so when I needed a hand mixer, I decided to go with something I knew and trusted. Unfortunately, this particular hand mixer does not meet the high expectations I hold for Cuisinart kitchen appliances. I mainly wanted a stand mixer because my counter space is too limited to keep the stand mixer out all the time. Rather than drag it out for small jobs, I wanted a hand mixer to take care of them.
Probably the best thing about this mixer is the attachable storage case. It's amazingly nice to be able to put the mixer in my crowded cupboard without having to worry about its odd shape. It's also great that I don't have to go searching for the beaters among myriad spatulas and spoons in the utensil drawer every time I want to whip up a quick batch of cookies.
The design is good and I'v never had any problems with the motor or the power of the beaters. It's strong enough for thin doughs and fast enough for beautiful foamy egg whites.
Though I have spoken to people who find the dough hooks very useful, I do not think they are anything to celebrate. I much, much, much prefer the dough hook attachment on my stand mixer.
Though the construction seems solid and does not, at first glance, look like the kind of thing that would wobble under its own power, I have had problems with the physical device. The beaters snap firmly into their places but then jiggle a little when the mixer is at full speed. This is not a problem I have ever had with any other mixer, hand or standing. Even very inexpensive mixers have never given me this problem. Though no disasters have struck yet, I'm very reluctant to use the mixer because of the rattle.
