In general, I love the small appliances Cuisinart makes for the home. I bought this food processor when the motor in my (very) old Cuisinart food processor finally whirred itself to death. I am very happy with its replacement.

It looks good on my countertop, with the sleek look. Though it is larger than my last 12 cup capacity food processor, I'm willing to deal with the extra heft because it means I got a really powerful motor. And the motor is great. It chops through every vegetable I've put in it. It's also wonderful with bread doughs. The dough blade is excellent and kneads in a snap without chopping the dough or losing proofing power.

My favorite feature of my new Cuisinart and the best new feature is the wider feeding tube. Instead of rough chopping things like apples and potatoes and onions and carrots, I can just push them through the wider slot and I'm set. Another improvement is that the bowl is wider at the top and narrower at the bottom. While this probably wouldn't matter much for people who do a lot of vegetable chopping, I do a lot with doughs. For that it's wonderful. It makes scraping easier and the wider angle keeps bits of dough from getting stuck in the bottom joint.

Like most of the small Cuisinart appliances, this one is built well, without the bowl fitting in with a wobble or the blades not securing firmly to the motor shaft. Unlike my mixer, the parts are all dishwasher safe. I know from personal experience that hand washing sharp food processor blades is not the perfect desert.

This is a great food processor for the money. My only regret is that I didn't get the 14 cup capacity instead of the 12 cup.
