Clek Oobr Booster Seat OB1U-GRW

Rating: 5 out of 5
  • Currently 5.0/5.0

Safety was the objective when I began looking for a car safety seat and I met that objective when I found the Clek Oobr Booster Seat OB1U-GRW. The highpoints of this seat are: the rigidity of the seat, the latch with recline feature, the stain resistant materials, the removable back, and the side guards. Also, this seat converts into a booster seat as your child gets older.

You can protect your child without making them uncomfortable. Comfort is important when you go on long trips. The fullback device is made for children who weigh 33 to 100 pounds and are three feet six inches to four feet nine inches tall. The booster seat is for children who are three feet four inches tall to four feet nine inches tall and weight 40 to 100 pounds.

The device has a magnesium back frame, structural headset, deep side wings, and absorbing foam to protect your child in the event of a crash. Most important of all, the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, rated the Oobr Booster Seat is a "best bet" which means that it will "provide good lap and shoulder belt fit for typical four to eight year olds in almost any car, minivan, or SUV."

Also, the fabric appears to handle spills well. Cleaning is painless and quick. The cushion is washable. It does not take much effort to install the seat in car with the rigid latch system. Once you lock it into place, it stays put. The downside is that the seat is heavy at 26 lbs and not cheap at $274. If it means the safety of a child, weight and price really do not matter. The warranty is for two years.

Pros
Rigid latch system
Solid construction built with safety in mind
Spill resistant
Easy to install

Cons
Heavy
Expensive
