Looking out at the night sky can reveal all sorts of wonderful things! When you have a Celestron 113 LCM Computerized Telescope it makes it even better! We found ourselves gazing in wonder as the computerized hand control let us search the heavens just by touching a button. It automatically enables you to search through the onboard database and find over 4000 celestial objects.

If you are new to astronomy and telescopes this unit is a perfect product for you. Celestron has a process called StarAlign(TM). This technology is an outstanding product for beginners (like me) but will also give an experienced user the accuracy required. All a user has to do is input the date, time and your location into the database, point the telescope at 3 bright stars and the computer will do the rest. If you buy the GPS model, you don't even have to input any data as it will be done automatically. Once this is done, your Celestron telescope is aligned. This takes the guess work out of aligning your telescope and gets you actually star-gazing that much sooner.

You get a high quality, lightweight 114 mm reflector telescope with a tripod and accessory tray, a CD Rom that includes "The Sky" Astronomy Software so that you can learn all about the wonders of the night. You can also print star maps from this software so that you are able to search out stars and objects on your own. While reflecting telescopes are not always for beginners as they take a lot more maintenance than refracting scopes. However, a reflecting telescope actually provides a better image of a celestial object with truer and more accurate imagery. With the Celestron 114 LCM Computerized Telescope the beginning user can actually use these higher end (yet surprisingly less expensive) optics because of the integration of the computer within the scope allows for more accurate viewing of even faint objects in the far reaches of space.

This telescope is a fun and easy way to learn about the night sky and as you become more comfortable and willing to expand your package you can upgrade with the NexRemote Telescope Control Software Package for even more hand controlled computerized options. With this, you can control the telescope from your computer or laptop for an even more versatile sky viewing experience. You will be able to download what you saw to your system for study later.
