Release 2006 Price 1699.00

The Carve Wright wood carving machine is a wonderful invention. It lets you design a carving on your computer, load it on a memory card, take it to your work shop and start carving.

The Carve Wright has rising head technology that allows you to work on pieces 14.5" wide and 4" thick. This allows you to carve everything from a delicate bowl up to a fireplace mantle. The design program also lets you carve in layers and then put the final project together. I was just messing around with mine when I first got it and carved a three dimensional bust. The program will help you slice it into many layers to make the carving easier.

When you buy this system it comes with 1 carving tip, 2 1/4" bit adapter, vacuum adapter, Carve Wright memory card and software. I would purchase 2 additional items the complete carving bit set, you will need different bits for more intricate work, and the probe that lets you copy an existing pattern, this works well when making repairs to furniture.

The copy probe lets you copy an existing pattern and load it on your memory card. When you have done this you can load this into the Carve Wright and put the proper matching wood in and replicate a replacement for the damaged piece, this works great for restoration of antique furniture or moldings in old houses so you keep the same wonderful look to it.

After you have designed you carving project and you are ready to start carving the Carve Wright will let you know which bit to install and it will let you know when to put a different bit in place to do the finer carving. It is a very user friendly machine, it turns out very fine work even if you are not much of a carpenter, as I can verify I never worked much with wood before I purchased this machine, now it is my favorite thing to work with.

The great thing about this system is you do not have to be a master craftsman to operate it. It is a very user friendly machine and software program. The software program has many preloaded designs and Carve Wright has an extensive library of carving patterns and projects that you can purchase. Some of their projects do get a little pricey, but if you are doing a little bit for sale they will pay for themselves quickly.

If you are careful and shop around you can get the complete system with the probe and extra bits for under 2000.00.
