We have owned several Bunn coffee makers over the years. We haven't found anything else that satisfactorily replaces the fast 3 minute brew time that you get with the Bunn brand. You don't have to worry about setting a timer or making one pot after another. The water is always hot.

The NHBX is a new more elegant looking style with a stainless steel tank. It fits well with the trend of stainless steel appliances for the kitchen. We had the options of black or white plastic accents to the stainless steel tank. We went with the black which seems to not show the coffee stains as much.

Other than the new styling, much of the rest of the this Bunn remains the same: 10 cups of coffee in three minutes, a heated warming plate that can be switched on or off, a sliding cover over the water receptacle for pouring in the new water and an off switch on the side for shutting off the power to the pot when you will be gone for an extended period of time.

We have had some issues in the past with Bunn coffee makers. They seem to have a tendency to leak around the tank after awhile. This one has not started doing that. We are hoping that having the metal tank instead of the plastic one will have eliminated that problem. We will have to wait and see.

The only other issue we've had was when someone who didn't know better turned off the side power button without telling us. Then you end up with cold water in the tank and it takes about 15 minutes to get the water reheated. Also, if you don't use the pot daily, you will want to run a couple pots of water through before making your first pot of coffee. Some of the water evaporates and that will make for a short strong pot of coffee.

These coffee pots are quite expensive, always have been. Whether or not the price is worth it depends on how much you value the convenience.
