Bose Quiet Comfort Noise Canceling Stereo Earphones

Rating: 5 out of 5
  • Currently 5.0/5.0

I work in a rather open area full of office spaces and I enjoy listening to music, but do not want to disturb my coworkers by playing music they might not like. Unfortunately not all of them return the favor and frequently I can overhear radios playing talk radio I do not agree with or music I do not like. When listening to my own music or internet radio, I decided I needed not only a good pair of earphones, but they should be noise canceling to drown out all the noise I didn't want to hear while trying to work. I chose the Bose Quiet Comfort Noise Canceling Stereo Earphones from Amazon for two reasons. They were Bose, which are known to be quality earphones and fit completely over the ears, unlike earbuds. They cost around $400, which is the higher end of noise canceling earphones which can run around $90-$150. A good pair of Bose noise canceling earphones can cost $300 and these were well above that.

This pair of earphones is adjustable for a pretty good fit, and the cord only runs to one side, making tangles nonexistent. The 3.5mm jack can be used on an airplane, and the sound is fantastic. As for the noise canceling, I do find that they work very well. Although I can still hear some sound if it's really loud, for the most part I don't have any problems with background noise anymore. The sound is nicely balanced and the bass sounds great. One of the best features of the earphones is the long cord. I can nearly make it all around my cubicle without needing to take off the earphones to reach something.

The earphones are comfortable and well made. The only downside to them is that after a few months the single cord to the earphones wiggled loose due to the way I was storing it, and I had to tighten it back down. It was causing the sound to come out of one ear. After I fixed it, it worked fine, though and the fault was mine in how I was storing it. If the user is careful in taking care of them, the earphones should last quite a while.
