Bose Accustimass 10 Speaker Set

Rating: 2 out of 5
  • Currently 2.0/5.0

Recently purchasing the Bose Acoustimass 10 Speaker System- the Home Edition. I was a little disappointed that there were not actually 10 speakers that came with the set. The system was designed for better acoustics in larger rooms but really does nothing for a smaller room. The 5.1 channels are great for finding the perfect sound for each movie that you may want to watch, but you have to adjust it for each movie or TV show which can get annoying. The sound quality is great for the radio and television-- keeping sounds consistent and not jumping when it switches from commercial to show . There is a color choice of black, grey or white to blend in with the rest of the décor in your room, or even to hide easily in the shadows.

The 10 speaker set came with a powered module, four direct/reflecting cube speakers, one horizontal center channel speaker, three front speaker cables, two rear speaker cables, one system input cable, as well the rubber feet for the speakers. On top of all the things included with this set up, there are more accessories that can be purchased through Bose to build on the base system that you have. An instruction manual is included in the box, but if you happen to lose yours, Bose puts their instruction manuals right on their site as a downloadable PDF so that anyone can find it.

The biggest complaint I have with this whole set up is that you have to individually set up each speaker to the channel that you want. It seemingly takes forever to do, but that is a big plus for some. Mounts for your speakers are not included, therefore, creating extra expense for you. Overall, I wish that I would have kept looking for a different set up. It takes too long to program everything and even then, it has to be done with every change of the channel to get optimum sound quality. I give this set up a 2 rating as my less expensive Klipsch worked better than this one.
