Volkswagen has a long tradition of producing compact cars with a strong following. Although the reintroduction of the Rabbit may not be as heralded as the return of the Beetle, the Volkswagen Rabbit is still an excellent decision and a very affordable one at that. Many people imagine that German engineered cars come with a hefty price tag. Looking at the stylish Mercedes and BMW's that often dominate the public perception of German automobiles one could easy be under the impression that German cars equal expensive cars. Nevertheless, Volkswagen is an excellent producer of economy vehicles that lead in their respective fields.
As an economy compact, the Rabbit is an excellent addition to any city dweller. Living in an urban area almost requires an automobile that is as agile as a mountain goat. All the tight turns and busy streets need a car that can stop on a dime and back in and out of the smallest spaces. The Rabbit is able to provide this with its sleek handling. The vehicle responds instantly to your commands.
The engine on this car isn't too shabby either. Speed isn't really a big requirement for me when I'm carting around Chicago but it does come in handy when I need to get out of a tight spot or I found myself on one of the numerous highways taking a shortcut. Having the ability to rapidly accelerate is always welcomed.
The exterior of the car is smooth and I've heard the Rabbit labeled as cute before. While that may be accurate, looks aren't always my greatest concern when it comes to picking out a car. Still, I found the exterior of the Rabbit to be quite attractive and felt secure inside even though a larger driver may have some difficulty with the tight confines of this urban conveyance.
