2004 Oldsmobile Silhouette

Rating: 4 out of 5
  • Currently 4.0/5.0

The 2004 Oldsmobile Silhouette was our choice of car when we had our third child, simply because it was larger in size and offered room for all of the car seats and people. The seats are very comfortable, even when I have to sit in the back of the van and it looked great even after all of the kids spent time in it. It was easy to get in the back to move and remove car seats and offered plenty of cargo space in the back for strollers and all of the other stuff that you have to tote around when you have kids. As far as dependability, it help up well for over six years, even though we put a lot of miles on it. No major work was necessary on it. The only issue that we had several times was electrical, in that the back brake lights would quit working and the control console where you could see the temperature, miles left in your gas tank, etc. would quit working. This has been fixed at least twice and both times the repairman said that it was a "short" in the system. We loved the sliding doors that open and close with just a punch of a button and we loved the different options that we could get on it that kept the entire family happy and comfortable. Gas mileage was great, even after we loaded it up with luggage and children to take a trip to the beach. This van was a great ride for all of us. Too bad they discontinued it or I would have purchased a new one when we were ready to upgrade to a new vehicle. If you are considering a used model of this van, you are sure to find that you enjoy it as much as we did.
