This RFC may benefit from an update in the style of PPP or SSCOP protocol specifications which rely on formal states and transitions rather than contrived examples. Contrary to the suggestions of RFC 3617, TFTP isn't going away and with the interest in Intel's PXE we can expect to see a lot more of it soon in enterprise deployments.
