When you go and buy a dvd of your favorite show why is it different than on t.v?

The people have to edit it so that the show doesnt show the commercials and its because of the broadcasting waves and its also partly because of how old ur tv is. that's why.

what do you mean its different? Its the same movie. If you mean the widescreen thats because the movie was really bigger and on tv they only showed part of it. You see, they just zoomed in on one part of it to get it onto the tv screen, but when you buy the movie, you get all of it, and it is wide on the sides, so thats the wide screen format.
