CRYTOGRAPHY IS THE ART OF DEVISING THE CIPHERS.IN THE OTHER WORDS IT PROVIDES YOU THE WAY TO ENCRYPT AND DECRYPT YOUR CONGFIDENTIAL  DATA.

Cryptography is a science of keeping secrets secret, that is, it is study of sending messages in some disguised form so that the intent recipient can remove the disguise and read the message.
