I have a 1988 Plymouth Voyager Mini Van v-6 the cable that runs to the heater core has detatched itself from the heater core, I found this when I took the controls out of the dash as there is no heat and the cable came all the way out. What I want to do is locate the valve so I can at least open it so my son will have a little heat, we live by Lake Erie and its really cold up here. If anyone can guide my hands to be able to locate and open this valve I would appreciate it and so will my son.

You can access the vent door from inside the cab.  You may get lucky with a long shaft (12" or more) screwdriver from the right side air duct. the vent door is about 3" h x 4-1/2" L.  The hing is on the left side of the vent door.  You won't be able to see much more that the right side edge of the metal vent door through the duct, but it should be enough.  try to work the screwdriver under the edge of the door.  Once you have it started, you may be able to use a straightened out coat hanger with a 3/8" x 90-degree bend at the end to work behind the vent door edge and then pull the door open toward you.  If this doesn't work, you'll have to remove the front cowling of the heater vent ducting.  About 6 9mm screws.  good luck.
