It is hard to say the best I can do is tell you that you can divide lines equally in half by putting the point of your compass on the end of a line and then drawing and arc through the line having that arc go at least past halfway of the line (you can eyeball this hopefully). Now leaving the compass on the same setting go to the opposite end of the line and draw the same arc but from the opposite side of the line. Now your arcs should intersect twice. Once above and once below your line. It will be necessary to use a straight edge. Not a scale mind you but any edge that can hold a straight line. Now place the straight edge on the the two intersection and plot your line. Congratulations you now have a dissected line. Being as the can only chop a line in half I'm afraid it will be of little help being as your need 10 equal sections and not 4,8, or 16. However I can ponder on it more if this hasn't helped you enough. I'm certain that if it is prevalent I can work it out.
