My JRT Gizmo is very small for the breed. I was speaking with another JRT owner about this and she said there were 2 categories for them ... the Parson's JRT and the Petite JRT. Neither the AKC or JRTCA says anything like this. Is this true??

your best bet is to contact the JRTCA for info on standards for the breed.  terriers are not eligible for registry until they are at least 1 yr old to allow them time to grow.  they must be a minimum of 10", maximum of 15" (AKC standard is different).  we have one little girl who is just getting to 10", she is 10 mos. old.  at the JRTCA trials they have classes for "shorties" (less than 10") too!
