It depends on the personality of the person as to which dog is the best.  Myself, I'm in love with Yorkies!!!  I have 3 and some on the way.  I grew up with a Fox terrier.  I like the spirited but loyal personality of the Yorkies, besides finding them easy to have in a small home & yard in town.  Also, because of my having asthma, they are ideal as they don't trigger any breathing attacks.  They are comical and entertaining, definitely loving attention.  The Yorkie fits my needs at this stage of my life.

I've had an English shepherd who was a wonderful stock dog.  Because we had poor fences and had sheep, he was the perfect dog for me at that time.  It depends on what your living needs are, when you choose a pet.

I also have rat terrier, Pipsqueak.  She is a wonderful friend.  She is better trained than the Yorkies.  I don't know if that's because of her or because of me.  I keep her wiped off to lessen animal dander; not a problem.  While I love her to pieces and she's easier to groom, I have to admit I do like the soft hair on the Yorkies.  Still, Pipsqueak is better trained in all aspects than the Yorkies.  Perhaps I baby them too much because they are smaller.

I know people who swear by the Sheltie.  If you want a calm dog who wants to please, this is a good choice.

I have to admit, I just kinda like these spunky little Yorkies who have so much personality!

We love our 1/2 rat terrier/Yorkie, she is white and loves to be loved. She has a great personality and goes everywhere with us. Not a barker! Ya hoo for that! I have had lots of dogs and for us right now she fits in well with me and my 17 year old and 14 year children's  lifestyles.

I LOVE Yorkies they are extremely well be behaved and beautiful. They have a good attitude and always cheer me up. I myself own two lovely Yorkies a male and a female and every where I go people want to know if they are breeding and I have already gotten many offers for the puppies even though my dog isn't even expecting yet. I would advise anyone who needs a new pet or even a new lifelong friend to buy a Yorkie. They truly are the best breed of them all.

I was recently surprised with a new baby girl. She is 9 weeks old today.  We love her. My whole family...11yr old and 13 yr old love her.  My husband adores her which I was surprised at, but I think it is because she is so darn cute and entertaining.   Once we get through this potty train stage we may get another one.

I own 4 yorkies and everyone of them are special. If I'm in a bad mood it only last a few seconds before they make me laugh. I have owned several large dog breeds and the yorkies win over them. I loved the big dogs but much more demanding and with the laws the way they are you have to be careful of what you own and containment is much more a problem. My husband says I can have 4 times more yorkies than the larger breed. I mean around $30 a year to feed each, can't argue with that. I will own more yorkies as soon as I can find breeders to my liking. But I agree with all above they really are SPECIAL.

We have two Yorkies.  Emma and Libby.  They are cute, warm and fun.  The only complaint I have is that they're bladder is too "Yorkie size."  They love us to death, can't stand to be too far away and can walk 3 miles without any problem.  Any Woman would pay big bucks for the color of their hair, they can be carried anywhere.  I love them.

I think Yorkies make wonderful pets. They tend to be a little hyper at times, but when it comes to a lovable and loyal companion, they hold their own.

I owned a standard named Benji. He was better than any burglar alarm when it came to alerting you to anything out of the ordinary.

He lived 9 years and died this morning after a sudden and brief illness. I can't stop crying, just thinking of his cute little face and the quality of life he added to our family.

In time I may decide to get another Yorkie, but none will ever replace my Benji.

Well potty training takes patience for sure but  my baby Yorkie was potty trained at 9 weeks, so these dogs are definitely smart!  I blocked off my kitchen for "his area" complete with food, water, toys, a bed, a carrier for him to hide in and newspaper for him to potty on.  He had accidents for the first couple weeks but I would leave his papers a little soiled for a while so that he would return to that spot to go.  Well it worked and now he will still go on the papers and he is 15 weeks old.  It is convenient because I work during the day and if he really needs to go potty he will go on the paper and he doesn't have to try to hold it till I get home.

Considering buying a pup from

Yorkiepup.com (Jeff Dane)?

Consider the facts below.

1 - My first-hand experience.

Jeff is a puppy mill breeder who

presents himself online as a

compassionate and responsible

person, but once he has your

money, you're pretty much an

annoyance to him.
I bought a pup from him.  It

died in 2 weeks from a

vet-confirmed birth defect.  Jeff

was rude, uncaring, and blew up

when we asked for compensation for

the 700.00 in vet bills.  Sound

like a compassionate person to

you?

2 - Do a google search on him.

See the SPAM that he posts

advertising his business.  Also

take note that "other people"

often post on his behalf, but

textually sound a lot like Jeff

himself.  Also note that Jeff

sells farm equipment.  If somebody

starts speaking out against him on

a bulletin board, suddenly the

thread is spammed with a bunch of

farm-equipment information, and

the thread is locked.  Also look

at the source code of his website,

might be of interest.  His writing

presents him as more of a psycho

than a compassionate breeder.

3 - Jeff was previously in the

monster-truck biz, until he quit

because it wasn't lucrative enough

(all info taken from online

research, i.e. GOOGLE).  So he got

into a more lucrative business -

puppy mills.  In his words, "MONEY

MOTIVATES!!"

4 - After one day of posting these

messages, I have been contacted by

several other people who have had

similar experiences in buying his

puppies.

BE SMART.  DON'T GIVE YOUR MONEY

TO A CON-MAN.

feel free to email me =)

I share my friend's yorkie named Lucky - so she has two families, which she loves. What a sweetheart, the best, the cutest, the sweetest, most intelligent baby in the whole wide world. We sometimes forget she's not human as we take her everywhere as she's so much fun to have around. She has us in stitches when she gets all excited and does laps in our large garden. Definitely a HUGE personailty. Everyone can't help but love her.

I love Yorkies, also. They are harder to train than my other mixed breed dog, but well worth it.
I just have to say, though, that there is no such thing as a Teacup Yorkie. A reputable breeder will tell you this--so will a Vet. Anyone who has sold you a "teacup" has just sold you a regular Yorkie....sorry, but you got swindled! I'm still so surprised that people still think there is such a thing--even after all the literature on how people are selling "teacup" Yorkies for way more than a regular--and people buy them! ARGH!

Yorkies are the best dogs in the world. I have 3...Peanut, Meggie and Tina. Tina is about 4 lbs and is my baby. Yorkies are a lot of care, but I don't mind. The tiny ones are more delicate (at least mine is), but I love them and will always have yorkies.   They are the best friends in the world, and are very smart. Each one has their own personality. I have had other breeds (all small) but yorkies are my favorite.......

Definately the best PETS and DOGS in the world.  I love my yorkie so much she's my baby girl.  She is so loving and playful.  She is so happy when she sees me and she smiles and shows her pearly whites.  She's just a doll she is almost 2 years old and weights 2.4 pounds.  She is a little angel.  She lays on her back in my arms just like a baby would.   She gives my whole family so much love we love her so much.  I don't know what my husband, daughters and I would do without her.   When I come home from work she is sitting on back of the couch waiting for me she sees me and runs to the french doors and cries her eyes out if I don't get inside fast enough.  She is so smart she has hundreds of toys she knows with each is no matter what I say get your blues clues, get your duck, get your rabbit, get your puppy or get your baby she always gets what I tell her to get.
She's wakes me and my husband with lots of kisses every morning.  She's tiny but full of energy and FULL of LOVE.  She sleeps with me and my husband.   If your looking for a dog that you will love as much as your own children a little Yorkie is for you.
We call her a little person because that's what she acts like she sure doesn't act like a dog.
Take it from me I never thought I would want a dog in the house or love a dog like I love her I would be lost with out her.   All our family is completely in love with her too.
Nothing is better than a love of a Yorkie baby.

I take her every were they are great dogs for in the cars and planes they can fit in small places and carriers so u can usually take them on planes with you. They are great wtih vets and dont usually bite unless they feel that u or they are in danger they are bid dogs in little packages. My dog thinks she is the biggest dog there is. she will get into a fight with a huge dog if she felt that i was in danger. And they are so easy to train if your stick with it and take the time to train them. They learn very fast. So yes i love my dog and Yories are the best dogs in the world!!!!!!

Jeff Dane should be tried for fraud, because that it what he is and does!  I have personally spoken to 4 people who have had extremely bad experiences with Jeff Dane.  All agree, Jeff Dane operates a Puppy Mill to the nth degree and should be stopped as soon as possible.  Until that day, do not waste your money or your emotions on Jeff Dane's inbred and genetically challanged puppies and dogs.  You don't know what you will be getting into.

Jeff Dane is a very bad breeder.  He cares not about the dog or the breed.  He is a money man through and through.  Take it from me, do not buy a dog from this man.  He will have your money and you will have a sickly or dying puppy.  Save yourself a lot of trouble.  You can find a reputable breeder.

Got a sick puppy too from Jeff Dane. His response was that of an arrogant jerk.  2 years later my dog his testicles have not dropped and must be removed!  As the vet said this is due to IRRESPONSIBLE BREEDING and too much inbreeding.  No one should have more than a few pups availble from reputable breeders.

I have a little guy, I love him more than words can describe. He's a Yorkie/silky mix, and silky terriers are almost as cute as Yorkies, and look a lot like Yorkies. My guy has more of the yorkie than the silky color scheme. My yorkie boy is the best pet I've ever had, he's so loving, so sweet, so tender, my wife and just adore him. I imagine that silkies are probably just as great as Yorkies, since they are so much alike.
