We have a Black Russian Terrior and have been feeding him raw chicken necks since he was a puppy (he is now 14 months).  He currently goes through more than 40 pounds of raw chicken necks (and backs) a month. This, combined with his diet of raw hamburger, cottage cheese, a egg and veggies makes him a very healthy, solid and strong 110 pound dog.  The calcium they get from the necks is much better than the calcium supplements which are not as affective in our view.

No, it is not bad to give your dog raw chicken bones.

Very true...my golden has been brought up on BARF...not one hot spot, no allergies or any of the other things Goldens are prone to on 'kibble' diets.
Her fur is amazing, and not one flea or tic...and I don't even use the Advantage stuff.
I can't help but to feel that the small extra cost for the best diet, is well worth it..and will save me fortunes in Vet visits

I know a lot of people do it, but I always briefly blanched raw food before giving to my dogs. They were not on a raw food diet, however.

I am looking for chicken necks to give my 4 year old lab/shepard mix to help keep his teeth clean.
Do you advise microwaving them for 15-30 seconds first to steralize them? Does that cook them too much?
