Ear piercing has been said to be somewhere around the dawn of our species, or around 30,000 years ago. The oldest mummy found by modern man was Otzi the Iceman, found in an Italian Glacier with ear lobe piercings and stretched somewhere from 7-11 mm diameter. Sailors used to pierce their ears when going over sea in case they were killed their jewelry could afford them a decent burial. Body piercing is mentioned in the bible in Genesis 24:22 Abraham's servent gave a nose ring and bracelet Rebekah, wife of his son Issac. In Exodus 32, Aaron made the golden calf from melted earrings.  The famed prince albert piercing is named after Queen Victoria's consort Prince Albert of Saxe-Coburg-Gotha. It is alleged that he wore a ring attached to his penis which was then strapped to his thigh, in order to maintain the smooth line of the tight trousers that were in fashion at the time.
