I'd love to work with NASA, but I've only completed my graduation in computers(BSc.Applied Sciences. Computer Technology)in India. My only dream is to work with NASA, I'm fascinated with their approach & expertise. I'm not quite sure if my graduation would help me get there? or is there a criteria that has to be adopted & worked upon? please let me know if there is any & what do I have to do?. I'm from a middle-class family & will do my best to abide by your norms....just as long as I could squeeze my way into my paradise- NASA!

Do not take this as absolute, because there may be special considerations that I am unaware of, however, for most positions with the U.S. Federal Government (under which NASA falls), you must be a United States citizen.  A lot of times, processing people from other countries for positions that require security clearances or background checks is prohibitively expensive in terms of time and resources, although that doesn't necessarily discount you completely.

As NASA falls under OPM (the Office of Personnel Management), you might want to look here (http://www.opm.gov/employ/html/non_cit.asp) for more information.

HOWEVER, although the NASA website specifies that "you must be a US citizen to be eligible for these positions," I know that they have special programs with students and I am fairly sure they have included students from Canada in the past.  India, I do not know about as I have never had an Indian associate attempt to work for NASA; however, NASA seems to work hand-in-hand with other countries, so it follows that there may be an "in" for you as well.

I know that NASA hires people with degrees similar to your own, so your graduation is a step in the right direction.  Preference seems to be for those with masters level or above, but I have known of people going to work at NASA with a BSc-level degree at least on an internship basis.   I would suggest that you find an area you are interested in (do you like programming?   Would you prefer to work in computer forensics?) and begin building experience in those areas.   Then, write a passionate letter to NASA explaining your situation, your extreme interest in working with them, and ask them to offer suggestions as to how to achieve your goals.   You might find that you have to obtain U.S. citizenship (for that, you might want to check this out:  http://uscis.gov/graphics/index.htm), but I would certainly contact them before vesting time and money in this if you will be precluded anyways.  I know that, for natural-born U.S. citizens, the process for working with NASA is much easier.

You will certainly get a better idea of what they want by asking them directly.  :)  However, if you don't get the reception you want, I encourage you to keep at it.  It's a large organization and you never know what opportunities might be there, hidden.

I wish you the best of luck.
