iv'e been straight edge for 2 years now and i have been diagnosed with adhd and they want me to take rilatine:otherwise i wouldn't be able to pass this year and the others one the docters say...but iv'e done some research about it and there's the same stuff in it as speed and xtc and i don't know what to do should i be braking my edge if i used it or shouldn't i take it?

do what you want,if straight edge is thinkin for yourself, do what you think is right, dont listen to n e one else opinions on it

We work through our problems without relying on other things. The only time where an exception might be right would be when something is life threatening and you need treatment in order to live. What's the point in being clean when it directly caused your death, right? I have friends who are ADHD and they don't take anything; they worked through it and found their own ways of learning.

My friend was also diagnosed with adhd as well. I asked my mom (she studied psychology) and she said there is no reason for any child to be taking Ritalin. She mentioned that doctors over prescribe Ritalin while there are other drugs out there that are not addicting and still work. Try talking to your doctor to see if you can get something else. As for the edge, I think it's what you choose. If you choose to be on the softer edge of sxe and take medicated drugs to help your condition, then do it. But others may believe that this would be breaking the edge (hardcore sxe-ers)

There are not many sxe doctors although a lot of sxe people give advice as if they were. Don't play games with this stuff. Breaking your edge isn't about what a few hardliners think. It's about staying true to yourself. If you need medicine, take medicine. However, maybe you should put some effort out if their are alternatives available.

ritalin isnt addictive and although it has the same stuff as speed it only works as speed to people that dont have add or adhd

I have adhd and i take concerta. It helps. Plus Ritalin is bad for you and it makes you lose a lot of weight same for aderal. don't use Stratera because it has no affect on what happens in your brain. Concerta is the way to go. it is time release. But any way i am trying to get off of it for SxE beliefs and stuff. I also don't feel like taking it. Do what you think is right for you. It doesn't matter what hardliners think. You are not breaking edge and your not on the softer side of edge because its prescribed not OTC. do what u want. but please do some research
