The NEC requires that the neutral bus bar in a sub panel be isolated and insulated, and that the ground bus bar be isolated and bonded to the panel box. The NEC also requires that a sub panel in a detached building have its own ground rod.  Should the rod be attached to the neutral bus,the ground bus, or both?
