I have a 4 yr old male husky, he is playful, loves other dogs and is lonely when left for more than 3 hours. We would like a companion for him and are considering a Samoyed.  We have heard that "females" are aggressive and want to dominate, we don't want any "alpha fights", should we consider a Samoyed, should we consider a male pup?  Any advise is greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

I would think that males together would have more fights due to male dominance. I have a Husky and I warn you your dog will be jealous of your attention to the other and there may be fights but they find their pecking order and get used to eachother, become friends and they're fine. Get a pup to reduce problems. Once we had a dog with my husky for two weeks and they drew blood once. However when I got a pup and my Husky simply ignored it for awhile then they became friends. It will take awhile for the dogs to get adjusted but they will. It just takes time so don't dispare. Just be patient. Good luck to you! You may want to get a less energetic dog. Two highly energenic dogs could cause some big problems if they team up.
