in 9 ball,if safety is called and the called ball is made must the player continue to shoot?

In 9 ball, the shooter is not required to call a saftey, he just needs to exicute it correctly
(hit the object ball first and then have any ball contact a rail) so it does not cause a ball in hand foul. If after contacting the object ball first and any ball then falls in a pocket without a foul (scratching or driving a ball off the table or an illegal jump shot etc.) It is still the shooters turn, wheather or not he had indicated his intentions orally.
