I have a 2 year old male neutered cat and I have just introduced a new male kitten that is 10 weeks old. My 2 year old cat attacks it and will not let it go despite the screaming of the kitten. The kitten is being held by the neck and it looks as though my 2 year old cat is trying to snap its neck. I keep them separated for some of the time and put them together to try to get them used to each other. My one question is will my 2 year old cat actually kill the kitten? And how long should I expect them to act this way or are there any suggestions of how I can introduce them better?

no the cat would not kill the kitten but if u leave the kitten in a room with the cat a big grusome fight will occur like u said in your respone in the letter but try doing this put each of the cats in a seperate room and try letting your 2 yaer old get adapted two the scent make sure u spend long affectionate time with your 2 year old so he or she will know that u  r not trying to replace him and also let the kitten run and play in the house butt keep yoour 2 year old in the room so he or she will know it has to share its territory with another cat or kitten

keep the two cats in different rooms for a while then move the older cat into the room that the kitten has being in and move the kitten into the room that the older cat has being in for a while so they can get used to each others smell.Do this for a few weeks then put them in the same room and see if they are friends yet if not repeat this strategy again until it works.
