The difference is that they are two different wars, the only thing they have in common is that they were both world wars, which means that the whole world fought in them.

The main difference between the First and Second World.

The First World War was mainly on one three fronts Belgium, France and Gallipoli.

The Second World War was fought throughout the world on different Fronts, i.e Southeast Asia, Africa, Russia. The Battles of the Atlantic and Pacific, these wars were Naval and Arial and obviously ground forces. There were also Ariel and Naval Battles fought throughout the world. Not to mention my homeland Britain and the Battle of Britain fought in the summer of 1940.

Overall my beliefs on the difference between the two wars were the way that they were fought by the advancement of technologies. The advances of Ariel and Naval war and the usage of Germanys U-Boats and the Panzer divisions that never lead to a stalemate on the battlefield like that of the first world war.

As time goes by so does the progress in technologies. Thus the way wars are fought today will be much different in the future.

In the future people who look at us that witnessed how the battlefield was fought today will think like we think of those that fought during the First and Second World Wars.

the main differance between world war one and world war two is the reason for the wars. the first world war was about alliances between the U.S. britian and france for the allies and russia germany and astruia-hungary the axis powers. and when one from each side got in a war it bought all their allies in with it. the U.S. entered right away because we where allies with britian. whereas for the second world war it was Adolph Hitler coming to power and trying to expand the german nation into a more powerful nation so that caused the war on the english front but the U.S. didnt join the war until 1941 when the japanese did their famous sneak attack on the U.S. naval and ariel bases in pearl harbor. which then had the U.S. enter the war and then the U.S. helped defeat the germans and the germains allies then the U.S. focused all there energy in the great pacific naval battles. working thier way to japan. Then the U.S. decided that a traditional war of attacking with soldiers and planes and ships was too costly for both nations and the U.S. did not want to lose any more troops so we droped the first of two nukes on japan and asked them to surrender but they said no so we dropped the second one and they gave up. then we fromed a new league of nations that was established after the first world war which we now call the united nations

The answer by Drips is not correct as the First World War was termed 'The Great War'. One of the reasons why it was named this was because of the battles the took place on land, at sea, and in air. So, this is more of a reason why the two wars were similar.

There are a lot of similarities and differences between the World War 1 and World War 2. A main factor, however, is that the events in the first world war basically caused most of the events to happen in the second world war. The two wars are very closely tied together and have a big relationship with each other. The ways people fought in the First World War were quite different than the way they fought in the Second World War. World War I started the trend that there was no difference between the citizens of a nation and the military. World War II finishes off this trend by bombing and killing any member of a nation, including the citizens. Life did the world had a united body that they could turn to. This has seemed to be working well since we have not had any major wars since World War II.There are many differences of these two wars but there is one thing for certain, no other wars have caused such problems and disaster to so many different places of the world. There is one thing we do have to consider though. Was the bloodshed and killing of World War I and World War II worth the forming of the United Nations? Some people think these World Wars had to happen to make many advancements in society. After these wars, history has been changed forever.
