Because she's bored or she's teething.  Either way, her energy needs to be redirected.  Offer her something ELSE to chew.

And visit the website Tugger listed.

Our girls chewed on anything they could get their teeth on for the first year.  The vet said this was normal for Rotts.  They chewed furniture, baseboards, books, my boss's checkbook -- really, whatever they could get their teeth on.  I finally ended up getting the largest size Nylabone, and they opted to chew on those things over my house.  Teething, the vet said.  Sure enough, after they were a year old, they quit.

It's still a puppy, eventually it will grow out of that stage. Until then, buy or offer a toy or bone that you buy at a store.

They will do that.  As stated above try the Nyla bone products, they make some great chew bones that my rott just loves plus they have a "kong" that you can put treats in and they have to try to get out.  Good Luck!!! Aren't' they wonderful dogs!
