Hi, I am interested in finding a persons IP address from their email. On Outlook Express you can highlight, click on properties then details to get this information. Yahoo email (this one I am most interested in) does not show this, rather some UL number (I am not sure what this is) Any help? Thanks Lucy

You may not be able to trace a person email address through the Ip because tipically this IP address is dynamic, thus changes everytime, unless tyhe person has asked the service provider to assign a static address.

especially coming from yahoo, which is a free service. if you are receiving hate mail or some offensive material like porn, you can try to contact yahoo's security people to have them check their logs. they can then tell you the ip address and then you have to find the ISP(Internet Service Provider) and ask them to go thru their logs to see who was using that dynamically assigned IP address. They can then try and tell their subscriber to stop. or maybe the security folks at yahoo will laugh at you

if you want to find peoples ip address its easy, thanks to jesus. first you have to make a connection with that person, so just send a file, when the file is being sent do this click start, run , type cmd then press enter, then type netstat -n then you shall have that persons ip address on screen, enjoy

to bad ur netstat wount work genus seeing as to how netstat -n will show the networks ip and not theres.. the easest way to get an ip in my oppion is to run aol or aim in dos mode and you can get there ip and do alot more too... (note if u run aim in dos it will only work on the older versons but aol will work on almost all unless this thread is out dated by now....

Actually the answer is very simple for people with Yahoo accounts.... Just go into the general preferences in your Yahoo inbox and change the headers to "Show All" and blamo it gives you a header that looks like Osama's wrap sheet.

Actually netstat -n is an amateur time consuming method but it will work, the thing is after the command is entered a list of IP'swill appear, the thing that then needs to be done is to go onto an IP Locator on the internet (ip2location.com/free.asp), just to name one. after that you will enter each individual address until you find a match. Again its a somewhat time consuming method but it works, I've used it. Have Fun :)

actually the netstat -n will work because it will show the persons IP address that you are directly connected to via a file transfer. the only problem with this command is that it displays many IP's but there are ways to know which one is the IP of the person you want. if you have any more questions email me at soldier.4.christ@hotmail.com

Suppose I have a peron's IP address, is there a way to locate it using Command Prompt? I know there are other ways but I'm curious. Secondly, when using an IP locator, if the person is on a network, will it find their router IP? Is there a way to find the computer's IP?

How do you acctually use an IM in MS DOS? Do you just open it using command and then after you DO open it in MS DOS then how can you find the IP?

look paladin, i have aol how do u get ip addreses? i have the best way to get ip addresses, when u creat a new website and put in a geustbook, and then tell ur frends to put in their name and email in the guestbook. then go onto ur site and wen some one has put their email in, and their comment, ull see their ip address with them. it doesnt work on some webs but u can creat a website in www.freewebs.com for free and do wat i told u, it works
