Cats don't need baths. Unless you have a show cat or have a specific need to bathe it...it could be harmful to your cat. Moisture that stays in the ears can cause yeast infections. It could also cause skin problems.

My cat Star, loves swimming, and baths, but after she is always scratching, so i thought that she was allergic to soap. I was right so you need to be very careful about what you clean your cats with.
I also believe that if god wants cats to clean them selves, that he would make it so that cats without homes, could clean themselves, and that is what he did.So i don't feel that cats were intended to have baths, it can be EXTREMELY harmful to them.

I own a few siamese cats, and my outdoor one either spends his time attacking his kitten, or cleaning himself. My cross-eyed one also loves to wash herself, and my last one, the kitten, couldn't care less, with all that bouncing around she does!

I don't think any cats need baths.  Most cats are complacated to wash.  Besides, most cats hate water.

I think cats like baths. And if you don't want the water to get in there ears just give them a bath with a wash cloth. That way you know you cat will be safe.

I don't know about all cats, but my Tigger fights with me every morning to get into the shower first.  My vet says it won't hurt him as long as water doesn't get in his ears.  He even likes to get lotion on after his bathes.... I know I have a mixed up cat.  But I rescued him from the mental hospital I was working at when his mom got run over when he was 4 weeks old.

All cats are fastidious, unless they have mobility issues from an injury or obesity where they cannot reach around their bodies to clean themselves.  These poor dears do indeed like to have assistance in grooming, although generally most cats prefer to be brushed, combed, and wiped with baby wipes or pet wipes rather than being immersed in water.

Some cats DO like water!  This is common in Maine Coones, who like to play in water, and the Turkish Van cats who actually swim!  But many cats have a fascination with water and are unafraid.

If you wish to bathe your cat, be sure to use a cat-safe shampoo.  Dog and people shampoos can contain compounds poisonous to cats.

For information on the window screen technique to bathe your cat, you might read the book "Good Owners, Great Cats" by Kilcommons and Wilson.  This is TONS easier than the dunk method, which tends to cause cats to panic.

I think that Siamese cats are clean.  I have a Bengal too.  The Bengal constantly washes the Siamese cats fur. I have allergies to cats (not too bad), so I bathe both cats every two months.  Then, I brush them daily.  It helped my allergies.
