Hello Sabrina,
I have a 4 hr. old Rottie (female) and I just got a puppy on Nov.1st (male).  He was a little shy and very calm.  (Nothing like Lexxus, my female).  He is so sweet and plays well with Lexxus.  I don't know what advice you are looking for, however, I would be more than happy to share some info. with you if you give me some specifics.

I have two rotties. A boy and a girl.My girl, Lulu is such a sweet love. You have to be very firm with them when they are puppies but they are the sweetest most loving dogs I have ever had

hi, well, i have had rottweilers for about 8 years, and the absolute best advise i can give you for the most gentle pup and adult is to take him/her every where you go. (THAT IS ALLOWED) I take my pups to the pet stores and to the park and just generally everywhere I go. I keep cats around from day one just to build tolerance, and I have 4 little girls that they have been raised around. Be firm when you need to be, but as much love as you give him, he will give you back 100%  and the best protection you will ever find. My baby Diesel is 16 months old and my kids and cats love him. he shares his food dish with 2 kittens, how many rotties do that? with good upbringing , yours will too.... Good Luck and Congrats on your new arrival.... Kim

i just got my rott nov 1st she is now almost 4 mo old and was very shy when i brought her home but that has changed she is more active now at 1st she wouldn't do anything but lay around. but i have noticed that the tend to stand up to you so you must be very firm and be sure to introduce them to you friends and family as well as other animals and children because the are a protector its there nature. but the are very loving and very loyal and i have found my rott and 5yr old son to be the best of playmates.

The best advice I can give about how to help your rottie is socializer her as much as possible. All different kinds of people different ages, and different situations. Also you have to be the boss. If she thinks she can get away with anything she will take advantage of that. It is important she sees you as the alpha and are in charge in ALL situations. Training is very important. She is too big and powerful of a dog to let her not be trained. Go to a class that will help with socialization or nothing else get a book. But train her. Doing those simple things will make your life with her very comfortable and so much fun because they are remarkable dogs and are full of love. They love their people so let her sleep in your room on her own bed and be with you as much as possible. Enjoy her and good luck. I have 2, Ozzie who will be 6 this summer and Lilahbelle who will be 3 in Feb. They go to work with me and love their walks. Have fun with her.

Sabrina, I have a male Rott, his name is Conan, you need to be strict with them and give them lots of love and attention, in return you will have the most faithful pal you have ever known, and die for you she will. Further more there is no such thing as an agressive Rott, its the people that make them that way.
Love her loads and loads

I have an 11 year old female, and socialize your dog, take her everywhere. Do not leave these dogs unattended.  I take my dog everywhere with me especially horse shows. Just her being there deters anyone, eventhough she is the sweetest dog around.
Rotties are bold and pretty and don't deserve the rap they received because of bad publicity.  Get her out so everyone can see a well behaved socialized dog

I had three rott males and they were raised around different children and animals.  I had them obedience trained and never worried about them attacking anyone. Out of all the animals i have ever owned they were the most loyal friends. Unconditional love is an understatment.  In the last 6 months i have had to put down two of my boys and that was the hardest thing I have ever done.  But all the love they gave was worth the current pain.  Love them, they will repay you many times over.

I have seen alot of great advise here, you need to get the puppy into beginner obedience and lots of socializing. You will also need to give this puppy alot of love and then more socializing to keep this puppy open to public and feel comfortable with strangers. Best of luck with your new endevor.

I bought my first rott about 7 years ago. He was just a baby when I got him. He's a great dog and I wouldn't trade him for anything. As long as you teach and train it to be a good dog, most of the time they will be the best dog you will or may ever have. Not all of them are aggressive dogs. Mine is as gentle as the day that I got him. You'll love her, I guarantee it!

I have a 1 year old female rottie. Her birthday was April 19. Since we had her she's been great!. She is adorable and all she wants to do is play. Even though they seem so cute and loveable there will come a time where you must be firm with them. Show them whose boss by standing over them or looking bigger then they are. It is very important they you make sure they are not becoming the alpha male. Hope it helps :)

I have owned both rotties and German shepherds i should say i own the two breeds and the biggest difference in the two is my males: the German shepherd is a loner but my rottie loves to be around us he follows us where ever we go. they are both protective so i have done the following for the two I travel with them wherever i go the rottie (Gunther) he is a great traveler one thing that you have to remember is that they tend to get heat stroke quickly so never leave him unattended these are the very best pets that you could own and i can't believe how many people are afraid of them ours is so gentle (due to being trained) we needed to show him who was boss. hes also very good with kids i used to take him to the schools where my kids went and he loved the attention now he s really good with kids love him,be responsible for him, treat him well, socialize him, and the reward you will receive money can't buy!!!!!!

I have a rott 10 mo. and she is very loving and protective. Cleo sleeps in the bed with my 14 yr old son. Follows everyone around, loves attention and is always at your feet. She is mixed with shephard and I will need to tell you this to know it. She looks and acts exactly like a full blooded rott. I am wondering if she will ever display any behavoir from a shephard. She has a sister that I gave away that resembles both animals but is sized like a rott. As a first time pet owner who hated dogs and always called the dog pound in our neighborhood. I love her as though she is human and I never thought a day would come where I would like any dog, expecially a big dog like her. Give it love and include her in everything. My dog rewarded me and potty trained herself and goes in the same spot in our back yard. She will wait patiently for you to open the gate where she will take her bones and toys to the back on her own. How bout that training? Cleaver for a rott named Cleo.xoxoxoxo
