have you tryed litter box training like a cat. If you have a litter box or crate training try to teach her how to use it.

                  thats my advice.

I trained each and everyone of my dogs by taking them outside every 2 hours, and  praising them when they do something outside.  I slowly increased the time (every 2 hours) by 15 or 30 minutes. Don't be in a hurry to housebreak. You may need to back up to your previous time frame to prevent accidents. If an accident happens rub your dogs nose in it and tell him no, use a rolled up newspaper on his rump or put a few pennies in a coke can and shake it while you are rubbing his nose in it and telling him/her no.  Immediately take your dog outside. Watch your dog, they will tell you when to increase time between visits outside.  Also, while you are standing at the door you will be using to let your dog out, make a big deal about going outside, get your dog excited about going outside.  See if you can get your dog to bark (if you choose) before going outside, that way your dog will associate a bark while standing at the door means "I have to go out"  When I have to leave the house or at night I confined my dogs to a travel carrier (large enough that they can move around) or a bathroom or some other room that isn't to large. (At night I do take away their food and water just until they are housebroke.)  Just remember the first thing you do in the morning or the first thing you do when you come home is let your dog out. Don't take time to pour yourself a cup of coffee, check your messsages, put up your groceries, nothing, the dog comes first on the list of things to do.  My dogs now, occasionally when I've had to work late, have gone 16 hours with no mess on the floor, and they were not deprived of food and water either. Good Luck.

I agree with the last person.  I think you should take the dog out every 20 mins at first however.  Praise them when they go but don't wait outside too long.  DO NOT rub their noses in it. This is nothing but an old wives tale.  This will cause you further problems such as eating of faeces.  If they go inside simply clear it up, do not shout at them as you will only cause them to become distressed and make the problem worse.  They are dogs, not humans.

Yes, every dog training book, trainer and veterinarian will tell you not to rub their noses in it, and DO NOT hit them, ever! Especially not Chihuahuas. They have very unique personalities that need to be specially dealt with, and hitting them with anything will make them more neurotic than they already can be!

Thats easy for you to say! I do take my dog out every 2 hours and he goes out gives me a blank stare, runs back in the house and deliberately goes as soon as he gets back in the house! I'm bout ready to kill that dog! I have got two children and training them wasn't this hard! I seriously think there's something wrong with my dog!

that is true, don't rub their noses in it. it's bad for them. i have a chihuahua and i praise him greatly when he "goes" outside. give him a treat every time he does.

I have a question or should I say worry. My 5 month old chihuahua ears are floppy, they were up when I got her. I know she is teething. Will her ears go back up? Is there something I can do to help?

I got a baby chihuahua, only had him 4 days now and what I have done with him is trained him to go on newspaper when he needs to go and when he gets older I will be teaching him to go outside. Always remember a dog will not mess in its own bed so always have the newspaper outside near its bed so when it wakes up it can go straight away

Chihuahas are very small dogs owned by very big people.  You bought this breed of dog for a reason.  They were not bread to be a normal dog.
They are small dogs with big attitudes.  They will take on the biggest meanest breed but at the same time they don't like people in general.  They like the people who bought them because they rule the owners.  It is the only breed of dog that is never socialized with other dog's. Even when you take them to dog park which has a specialized area for dog's under a certain weight you will never see a Chihuaha see an owner of chihuaha.  When they are born they are smaller than a rodent infant.  Whoever buys a Chihuaha is not a dog lover they are someone who wants the unconditional love of dog but, the portability of a cat they wish was a dog.  No wonder the animal is si confused
