I have just replaced my wall switch with one that is a combo switch/plug-in outlet. The switch works but when I put a 3-prong tester into the outlet, a single yellow light lights up labeled "open neutral". What does this mean? How do I correct this? Pls. help. thank you.

make sure the neutral is connected to the plug or that the splice in the box is done correctly.

You may not be able to use this combination switch/outlet since you may only have a switch loop at this location;no neutral! If your switch box only has two conductors(don't count the bare wire if it's a non-metallic sheathed cable. This wire is your equipment ground and it cannot be used as a neutral),it's a switch loop and you cannot add a receptacle.
