hey guys, weird question but by any chance was there a storm going on when your speakers stopped working? I remember hearing something like how lightning and electricity in the air can do something and mine just did the same thing...during a lightning storm.

Gday... I have an idea, and a question, first my idea...
Try plugging new speakers in, if that doesnt work, and you have a descent sound card, you should be able to run a lead from your soundcard out of your headphone jack straight into a Left/Right Input of a stereo, set your stereo to Auxiliary and if that doesnt work, buy a new computer :-P

To get this working you will need a lead which has a headphone jack on one end and a left/Right Auxiliary input lead on the other, they are very common in electronic stores so it shouldnt be too hard.

Now a question, I am on a laptop and i can play sounds through the small Internal speakers very softly BUT only very softly, sometimes it works fine and other times not at all?!?! any ideas??!

you should try to go to the control panel. sometimes the volume can get turned all the way down. first go to start then to control panel. after that go to sound and speech. finally go to audio divices on the bottom or advanced volume control on the side drop down  bar. i hope this helps you.

Sounds like you all need to install sound drivers.

Hi there, i was having the same problem. Until i found what to do!!! What has happened, especially the dude wit who reformatted, is that your soundcard is no longer installed, and however many drivers you install it still wont work. Go to dell.com and look for drivers, then under sound install all of them. Then somethin should pop up saying "found new hardware, sound card" and shazam! your sound will work. Well it worked for me anyways.

Good luck!

Bougsta

i think most of you who asked those questions are silly because you can get your speaker repaired if they stop functioning

Hey, I have the EXACT SAME PROBLEM!

What you can do is check to see if your speakers are enabled. Go to control panel, from the start menu, and click on sound and audio devices. Go to speaker settings and troubleshoot everything.

For me, my problem is that it says I don't have speakers installed, when everythings plugged in. If anyone has a solution to that, e-mail me at:

Stareyedcat9@yahoo.com

Thanks!
