Hi..no such note was ever issued. There are a lot of replica fake notes produced that have that denomination of one million dollars. The highest real note printed from this bank was a $1000 note. The highest note printed by the US government was the $100,000 note a gold certificate dated 1934.This note was used only for bank transactions. If you have this note I would like to see it.Can you post a scan?
Thanks

In response to Johan's post, you are incorrect. To prove that Pete is correct with his comments, please look at the Smithsonian's web site: http://www.smithsonianlegacies.si.edu/objectdescription.cfm?ID=29

I do not believe that they would be incorrect in what they post...do you?

The United States has never issued a circulating note with a denomination greater than 100,000 dollars.

The highest denomination ever issued on any financial instrument of the United States was a treasury bond of 500 million dollar denomination.  It remained internal to the government, though, and could not be mistaken for circulating currency.  It looked more like a stock certificate than anything else.

Any million-dollar bills that look like "real money" are novelty items.

Remarks of Pete and Levente, I totally agreed. As there are various other versions of so called USB, as he said 500M,which seems there other version of smaller/larger denominatons as well, such as 100m,1b,which seems issued under special arrangements for special reasons.regarding 100,000GC,wondering ,is it redeemable, now?

I have a client in possession of a 100,000 dollars gold certificate with serial number J00020029A. I am not answering any question. I just want to ask if this gold certificate is genuine and can be change with its value. This was kept by his grandfather since time immemorial. He asked my assistance if the gold certificate may be negotiated or be of value.. I appreciate it very much if any one can tell me who or what agency should I be communicating with. Is it possible to have their e-mail address? thanks...

The largest note ever issued by the Bureau of Engraving and Printing of the US Treasury Department was the $100,000 gold certificate, printed between 18 December 1934 and 9 January 1935. They were only available in exchange for $100,000 in gold bullion, and were used only for transfers between Federal Reserve Banks.
