I have a vw jetta 1: model 85: 1.8l fuel injection system with a fuel savings gage ,the light comes on when your in the wrong gear but the needle does not alway want to work , IT SHOULD show how much fuel you use.

Read the owners manual. It works only in the highest gear.

I have jetta 85 1.8i and it on cold is working not smoothly, and not runing good when in tank is little gasoline
