My little Chihuahua is eight months old and still burping. Is that normal? She acts like a little baby doll sometimes. Especially when she is sleeping. We have had Chalupa since she was five weeks old. We are still feeding her infant formula (Similac) baby milk. She still burps afterward. Is this normal?   ChalupaSimilac

Eight months old and feeding her milk?  I think you meant 8 weeks old, if I remember  a previous post correctly regarding a 5 week old puppy.

You can stop feeding her milk as she is now old enough for solid food and this is the normal age that pups are separated from their mothers.  I would take the next few days to wean her off milk and get her on a good dry kibble.  There are several that come in little bites, Science Diet is the one that comes to mind.

She might be burping because human formula isn't the same as dog milk, so it gives her gas.  This is also a good time for her first visit to the vet and to set up a schedule for her vaccinations.

Thank you for taking care of your baby.

Thank You for your reply Chimama. I always look forward to reading them.Hehhe... I guess I didn't express my thoughts correctly. Little Chalupa eats solid foods too along with her baby milk. All her teeth are fully in and so white. Believe me she loves her kibbles and chicken. My little gremlin loves chicken. She drinks water too. I guess I still give her milk becouse she is still my little baby.Thank You for sharing your excellent knowledge and great advice. Take care

Hey,
I reckon it is very normal that your dog is a strange dog.  I hope this doesn't destroy our friendship?  So i got to go see ya.

I am adopting a Chihuahua next month.  She is being shipped from Iowa.
Is there anything I should know before she gets here?  Anybody have any
advice to give me?  She was born on 8/9/04 and they said that she will only reach
3-5 lbs. as an adult.  I will name her Sierra.
