i need to find out how you treat a chihuahua after she has had puppies. Do you need to take them to potty are will they let you know they need to go.

Your female will need extra food and water, as she is busy producing milk.  She will do as she always has, requesting to go out or in my case using the litter box (outside in MN is NOT chi-friendly 7 months of the year).
The pups will pee and poop where they are, the mother will stimulate them to do this by licking their bottoms.  Leave it be for a few days, then carefully begin to reach in and pet the mother and pups, after a week or so you can carefully remove one pup at a time for cuddling and socialization to people.  Your best bet is to get a good book such as Chihuahua's for Dummies.  I know a lot of people like the Beverly Pisano book, but I found it of limited information and more like an advert for nylabone products.  Of course, regular visits to the vet are Very Important.
