I just moved in with a new roomate about a week ago that has a 6 month old half Jack Russel and half Chihuahua.  Now, I have two six month old Kittens and I have heard horror stories just recently about Jack Russels killing cats and other small animals.  It is in their nature.  I realize that you cannot trust the dog with the cats from stories I've heard about cats living happily with the Jack Russels for years and one day the owners come home and the dog killed the cat.  I just need to know for sure...should I worry even if the dog is half chihuahua?  I would be heartbroken if my cats got killed.

Hi
I have a jack russels for nine years. I have 2 cats at the time when I first got the dogs.
My jack russels was brought up with cats around her. She get along with them find. I recently got two little kittens and she is fine with them. But my jack russel was a puppy and grow up with cats all her life so she is find with the kittens.
I don't know how your roomate dog will take to cats. My dog is very calm and well train.
It all depends how the dog was trained.
My dog is not like any other jack russsels that jump 4feet in the air or destory my house.
Just be around them and see what kind of reaction she give the cats. If she start the growl at them then you will know to take caution. good luck.
