YES!!!!
running in place will certainly prove to maintain a WEIGHT LOSS. i began running in place at a size 13// i am now a 7/8; consequently, i had to purchase new clothing. i literally ran in place while veiwing television, and modified my diet by illiminating sugar, flour, and salt. i ran in place 30-40 minutes every day.

IT WORKS!

Being that I was in the Navy, and during Bootcamp in Chicago's Great Mistakes LAKES It would get to cold to run outside; So or CC would make us run in place for about a 1hr a day theweight came off Dramatically.
I went from 260lbs to 190lbs in 16weeks.
Running in place, aerobics, running the stairs, sit ups, push ups, crunches are natures real ways of loosing weight.

I run everyday and I love it it's alot of fun. It lowers the risk of me having heart attacks and everything and I'm glad for that. Thanks

Yes, I am a 22 year old female and I just gave birth by c-section at 29 weeks pregnant. I ran in place for 30 minutes 6 times a day (every 3hours) right before I fed my son, I was 113 pound pre pregnancy and 148 pregnant now after 8 months I am 115.

Hi! I like to run outside but when I can't I run in place, and move back and forth when I'm going it and also I tend to carry light armweights while doing it. I usually do around a half an hour- sometimes more but take breaks if it gets too tiring and go back to it later. I haven't noticed any difference between my calorie burn on a regular basis as a runner and when I have to do it inside for a few weeks.
Hope this helps!
Annie

I've recently been reading about appropriate surfaces to run on. Since the norms for surfaces in homes-- hardwood floors or
thin-carpet floors-- are ideal surfaces (especially the latter), I've switched from street and sidewalk running to simply running in place at home. Why pay for a treadmill?

I thought I was strange because I run in place every day---about 10 to 20 minute bursts a few times a day. It keeps me in shape. I never knew other people did it.
