the list has changed over time.  the most popular versions are

Antiquity:
1) Colossus of Rhodes
2) Egyptian Pyramids
3) Hanging Gardens of Babylon
4) Lighthouse (Pharos) at Alexandria
5) Mausoleum at Halicarnassus
6) Statue of Zeus by Phidias at Olympia
7) Temple of Artemis/Diana at Ephesus
(this version compiled around 2nd cent bc)

A later list, more Middle Ages, said.

1) Catacombs of Alexandria
2) Coliseum of Rome
3) Great Wall of China
4) Leaning Tower of Pisa
5) Mosque of St. Sophia at Constantinople
6) Porcelain Tower of Nanking
7) Stonehenge, Salisbury Plain, England

The Seven wonders of the Industrial Age are considered:
1) Hoover Dam
2) Brooklyn Bridge
3) Transcontinental Railway
4) Panama Canal
5) 'Great Eastern'
6) Bell Rock Lighthouse
7) Bazalgette's London Sewers
