hey yall! well i guess my message didnt even get posted yesterday. (i pushed the "submit" button like 3 times! lol!) Well, as u might have guessed im from the south. (YALL!) dallas to be exact(if u even care!). i dont have my belly button pierced but i want to get it done if only my parents would let me!!!well what i was going to say yesterday was that this sight dont look too popular huh?! well ive been to like 3 other sites that are pretty much the same as this one and they have way more postings! SO LETS MAKE THIS SIGHT POPULAR, OK!!!!!! well now that i've said that i have a question. My birthday is comming up and im gonna be... well im not allowed to give out any personal info, so i guess yall will never know huh?! lol! well i was just wandering how old you have to be to get your belly button pierced. and another question is do the piercers put something around your belly button to numb it?please post back anyone whos got the info. well tanks a tot!lol! :) see ya

Hey machenzie, I just got mine today. For all you ppl out there wondering, it doesn't hurt and yeah it does feel like a shot, it really depends on who does it. Find someone who works at a tattoo shop and also does piercings there. If they've been in the business for a while, you are in GREAT hands, don't worry. You don't have that many nerves in your belly button just like the bottom of your ear so don't sweat it.The pain lasts for 2 seconds, I promise and from here and there when u bump it too hard it gives a little pain but it won't bother you even if you are a sucker for pain. If you have an outty, like me, it is better to get it done on the bottom b/c you have a better lip to pierce it through. If you are an inny, you can get both top and bottom. It's really cute. M, hun, age doesn't matter as long as u have a legal adult with you. No they don't put anything on it to numb it but they put petrolium jelly on the needle to make it slip through like butter. Most of my friends didn't even realize it happened. Just keep up a good convo w/ who is doin the piercin ya'lland u'llb fine. Trust me, I don't take pain very well and I could do without the shots, but after today's experience I think I'm going to like it. Let's just see how the night's sleep goes. LOL!

Eve, NO you should not get your belly button pierced b.c they can get infected really easy if you do not know what to do. I think u shud wait till yer older. and for everyone else, if you get it done profesionally, they will tell you how to clean it, mine told me to use bactine on it 1 time a day when i get out of the shower and thats it. No poroxide or alcohol on it. hi i am 12 and i live in jackson alabama i wanna no if i am to young to get my belly button pierced my mom said that we would talk about it when i get a little older but i wanna get it done now i have some questions 1.does it hurt2.how much does it cost in alabama3.do they numb it here (my friend told me that hers hurt a little but by the time it hurt it was over (back to the questions)4 i have a really hard time healin my ears have been done 4 years and they still sometimes still get sore so will my belly button do that i would like yo get my done when my mom gets her tattoo but i am still tryin to get her to let me get one i i think it is goin to hurt i cant stand really bad pain that well plz answer my question cuz i think i wanna get it done soon my grandma told me that she would dis own me LOL (she wont) plz reply to this my mom is gettin her tattoo soon in like 2 weeks thanx

hay yall im 12 @ age age of 11 i pierced my own belly button. i did it w/ a piercing needle. i wouldn't know if it hurted 2 do so cuz i numbed my navel w/ an ice cube...(it worked !!!!) but last month i got it done professionally. (moms don't know) i feel kinna guilty but i waz w/ a dude and he siad if i were 2 get it done he wold rip it out. but i showed him at a precis timing, right while we were having sex. yep i went 2 the mall and got 1 costume made 4 $59.00 and it said "F*CK ME" yep right when i took off my shirt he approved he waz like damn i guess u can keep it. but 4 all the new comers who wanna get it pierced it feels like a slight pinch and i piad 35.00 4 mine in ATL at Clair's in south lake mall. so HALLA

hEy Ladies! i hear a lot of chatter from the youngin's i'm 16 and i'm from Ontario. i've had my belly button pierced since i was thirteen. my advice.... if you are younger than fourteen and your parents dont want you to get it done, they're prolly right, you are too immature to take care of a piercing. next, stay away from home piercing kits or uber rebellious ideas of doing it yourself with a safety pin NOT SMART! infections, pretty much everybody gets an infection when they first get it done, however some people are more prowne to infection than others so healing times are the same for everybody. barbell vs hoop... hoops get infected easier becasue you are more drawn to play with the ring and get it dirty, bar bells take longer to heal because if it is infected you cant get the puss out as you would by turning a hoop. prices...dont pay more than 75 USD. its not worth it, i paid $35 in a professional studio, as long as you go to a clean and professional place you'll be fine, always the risk of infection but they are sterile and will give you information about cleaning the piercing and changing the ring if you ask. now for my question, i've had my belly button pierced for three years, i've had my nose done, my ears four times on each side and my lip pierced, i'm going to get the bottom of my belly button pierced in the relatively immediate future, its been done once before but i did it myself (bad idea) i had to take it out because i didn't have a long enough barbell. its now a bit of scar tissue, i'veheard that it is really painful to pierce through scar tissue, is this true? talk to ya later gals!

Hey u guys. Im getting mine done too.. and the way i convinced my momwas by saying.. that i was getting old enough 14 where i can start to express myself in different ways and how im not gonna be walking around with no shirt on or anything so she doesnt have to worry about boyz seeing it. and if they reply with the "well if no1s gonna see it, why bother getting it?" just say that you think its really cool and tell them u'll save up ur own money to buy it and promise you'll take care off it. Say it will help u become more responsible or sumthing. idk, i said that to my mom and DAD when he makes up his mind it doesnt change and it changed both their minds.. but idk maybe others ppl parents are different. just giving out sum ideas. jordan

Hey, here in canada its costs 60-70$, and my friend got hers and she got a hoop at 1st cuz thats all they let her have, and yes it did get infected. So get a barbell if yea can. Make sure u get it done perfresionaly and clean it alot, and like after 3 weeks if its not infected you can change it, or if they made u get a hoop and it didnt get infected u can change it to a barbell in 3 weeks, well it doesnt hurt at all! feels like u got ur ears pierced and its like 1 second so u cant like feel it like its so quick. Its over b4 it begins :) And it most likely wont get infected so its well worth it, but keep it in if it does get infected and just keep cleaning it, it will get better, maybe ask for something gold or sterling silver and then u should be good to go, and they will let u get it if your 11 and u have an adult. well I hope I asked most of your guys questions!! chow!

Hey, I got mine done yesterday! its kinda hurt lol, and I can tolerate pain ;) well mine was $70.00 canadian and they used a needle and push it through with there hands.. hurts more then ppl say lol but its not like super bad. and u cant go swimmig or in a lake or bath for 6 weeks and dont use alchol or peroxyde to clean it!! use contact solution works perfect ;) alchol and peroxyde are too harsh on ur skin and get a barbell not a ring cuz ring may get infected easier. and only clean it twice aday not 3! that will irritate it and clean it for 6 weeks or more. Well good luck its totally worth it. dont let ppl tell you that u cant get it when ur 12 ur not gonna grow enough to like scar urself from ur piercing lol trust me

hey people i got my belly button peirced i am 12 the perfessoinalist was very shaky but somehow he managed to peirce it and it hurt a little but not alot i have some very important info though if u get yours peirced u should NOT use bactine thats what he told me to use but i found out that all it does is mess up what yours trying to heal if u dont get it this is what im saying when u got your belly button peirced u stuck that needle through your layers of skin and stuff so then u need to repair those layers of skin and your skin cells but all the bactine spray does is kill them and so it will never heal and another bad thing to do is if u have a ring do not turn it that is just pulling all those skin cells and stuff that build up on it inside of the little hole ITS BAD and it HURTS so dont do it im talking from experience but i do know what u should use u need to buy some sea salt and u just put 1/2 a teaspoon in a cup a small cup then u put a 1/2 cup of water in the cup then stick the cup in the microwave and heat it for as long as you need to but it needs to be as hot as u can stand it But do Not burn yourself i ALSO DID THAT OUCH! but i no longer have my belly button peirced because it had been screwed with so much that it was so hard to try to get it fixed or healed i took it out and decided that i would let it heal and get it done again and treat it right the first way also another thing was that i got in the pool and i wasnt supposed to but i did it anyways and i dont mean like just one time either the clorine messed it up it help it at all anyways but you can always get in AFTER it heals but basicly any kind of CHEMICAL will mess your peircing up so stay away from them!! well gtg bubii

I'm 14 and I live in Calgary AB. I model and my agent said it was okay if I got my bellybutton pierced. So I was really happy cause I have to run everything by her. So next I had to ask my dad. I was planning not too and just get it done, because I thought he would say no. But we were talking at supper and a conversation started about body piercings. So I decided to go for it and ask my dad. He said yes!! omg I was so thrilled. I recommend you ask you parents before getting it done. It's different to different people it may hurt alot and a little . But if your parents make you take it out that would really suck. Then you would have to do it all over again. And DO NOT do it yourself. A person I know did it and her stomache turned purple it got so infected. Thanks Peace

Hey I noticed alot of peoples questions so i figured id answer them all. I have mine done and no it does not hurt and all my friends who have it done agree that its pretty painless. The age thing that all depends on your states rule on piercing I live in Mass and I had to go to rhode island to get it done i was 13 if anyone lives in that general area i highly recommend body vogue I got my belly button done there a few years ago and just recently got my tongue dont there which also by the way does not hurt at all suprisingly less then ur belly button. body vogue also numbs the piercings most places do numb you usually its the ghetto ones that dont and u dont really one to go to those anyways and mine cost about65$ it all depends on the ring u want i'vealso heard if u buy ur own ring and bring it in it will be cheaper-hope i helped

I'm 21 and got my belly button pierced when I turned 18. My mom made me wait until I could sign for it myself (my body, my responsibility) and I'm glad she did. No it doesn't hurt (I drove myself home) and the care required is minimal. I got a double-jeweled barbell and it was $50 total (would have been $40 for the single jewel). For the girl who asked, I am also allergic to nickel, but the surgical steel they used was fine for me. Whatever you do, DO NOT pierce it yourself or let a friend do it. You can get a serious infection and possibly mess your body up for life (things like HIV are not fun to tempt fate about). The easiest way to find out places to go is to look in your local yellow pages. Then call around to some places and ask their prices and policies about age and jewelry they use as well as to make sure they are licensed piercers. Doing a little homework up front can save you years of disease, pain and body deformities. Just make sure that you are doing it for the right reasons and that you follow proper procedures and you should be fine. It's been over three years now and given the chance I'd pierce it again. hey guys, i'm briana. i noticed that more people ask questions than answer them. seems to be that people ask their questions and when they get it done, they don't bother to inform the rest of us the things we wanna know. good questions are being asked though. i also noticed that most of the people asking questions on here are under 16. you people need to stop complaining that your parents won't let you get it done, cuz i'm 16 and my mom STILL doesn't want me to do it. i think my mom is close to giving in, but idk. i read all these comments and things and a few people said it didn't hurt. obviously it has to hurt if it's something sharp piercing your skin... i'm not worried about the pain though or if it bleeds, but it'd still be nice to know. anyway, i assume barbel is the most common, but i don't think i've ever seen a ring looking one? what's the difference? also, i'm having such a hard time trying to find a place that is sanitary enough. i'm so impatient and i really wanna get it done. i already had to wait like 4 years, i don't want to wait any longer!! if anyone knows a good place in nj.... preferably in these surrounding towns, (pompton lakes, wayne, oakland, wanaque, paramus, mahwah, franklin lakes, hackensack, pompton plains, etc.) then please let me know!! i'd really appreciate it. sn: brick651

hey people i wanna say i want my tummy button pierced and i was wondering, how much pain would be involved and how often does it have to be cleaned, also i want my tongue pierced Because it seems so cool, my mum won't let me but i always ignore her so but i still have to wait, i am going to convince her its not that bad and when she has the money or i get it ill go for it, does it hurt bad or is it like a shot, i hate needles so i would have to look away, how old u have to be to go alone without a parent n i was also thinking can piercing affect your body in any way at all? if it can i might have second thought, i would have it done but i would have to have someone with me so i wouldn't back out Because i hate needles n i hate pain, but seeing as not long ago i had an operation on my toes (ingrown toenails) i think i could take 2 seconds of pain

i think all these young girls like from 13 and under should be waiting a while to be getting it done i mean im 16 and im getting mine done today and its not gunna hurts its just you really have to understand weither you want it or not b-c when you dont want it anymore your always going to have a scar and it isnt going to look pretty and for those girls who are trying to do it behind there parents its impossible when its summer season so yea just wait till your parents let you and your just taking the chance of you getting it done and them making you take it out and its pointless so just wait & if your a girl thats doing it yourself dont anymore seriously your taking way to many chances of getting infections its dumb but yea i just want to help all you young ones out im from liverpool new york:]

Wow, you guys are a little young for belly piercings don't you think? Anyway, if you're going to have it done be sure you get it done by a professional in a clean studio. You'll want to talk to the person doing it before hand. Ask questions. They'll tell you how to clean it, what to expect from the procedure and all that fun stuff. Different people handle pain in different ways. Getting their belly button pierced may hurt someone a lot and another person might not feel it at all. Most piercers will use a ring for the jewelry. This allows you to clean inside the piercing better (by rotating the soap and water inside to clean it and rinse it). There is some bleeding. After all, you are putting a hole in your body. Please, don't do this yourself. Have a professional do it for you. They'll have better equipment, both in quality and sterilization. They'll also be able to see what it will look like, you'll be looking at it cock-eyed. Plus, they have all the experience and wont mess it up. Generally they'll make two marks on your belly button. One where the needle goes in and another where it comes out. They'll put a clamp around the skin to make sure the needle goes in straight, put the needle through and then the ring. After that, they'll tell you how to take care of it and when you can change the jewelry. One last thing. Check out these two websites for some really reliable information. to be honest, a lot of you guys are really young, and i don't think anyone under 15 should be getting a naval piercing considering that you're going to grow and the proportions of your piercing could change. and if you want to get a naval piercing, you're going to have to be super serious about this. anyways, here are some tips. DON'T do it without your parents permission that usually always ends in trouble, no matter how planned out you have it, just promise that you'll be responsible, research and share your research with them to show you're not making a rash decision, and if you have to, [AS LONG AS ITS HEALED PROPERLY BEFOREHAND] promise that you'll take it out around relatives [= make sure you clean it as instructed, usually you're given a cleaner or referred to one, but try not to ever use alcohol or peroxide. and if you plan on swimming anytime soon after getting it, it would probably be smart to wait. you can swim in a pool approximately 6 weeks after the piercing, and in a lake or ocean about 3 to 6 months after due to the bacteria found there. your best bet would actually be to get it done in the fall, so that by summer you can swim freely, and switch jewelry as often as you'd like and prices usually range from 15-150 with a barbell or ring. but a safe bet would be around 40 dollars to guarantee a clean, safe, and quality experience. ask people around your area about any references they could offer. other than that, good luck [=

mine cost $55 but they can cost anywhere from around $45 - $100. it really depends on where you get it done and if you get a ring or barbell and if you get a colored jewel on the barbell or not. etc

my belly button cost $30 to get it pierced. but if you do go get it done make sure that you get it pierced with a barbell and not a ring b/c ring's are more likely to get infected seeing as how it can turn and pull bacteria into your belly button whereas a barbell stays in one place all the time. i have 13 piercings so i know what i'm talking about k? :) late

yeah when i got my belly button pierced, it just felt like a shot, but I had to take mine out because I got mine done without my parent's permission, but now I'm getting it done again. Any recommendations as to where I should get it done? I live in the Detroit area in Michigan. I got mine done the first time in Spain.

Hi i am getting my belly button pierced but i live in chateauguay do u know anywhere that i can get it done at? and doe sit hurt and will it cause problems one day when i wanna have kids?

well...im gonna answer the question that was asked in the 1st place...piercin cost anywhere frm $30-$90. depends on where u get it done...how elaborate the ring or barbell is...and remember!! if ur only gonna care about the price then u mite get screwed over!! so dont b 2 cheap...search on the web 4 piercins then it will sho u a list and take down all the info...the name of the place, the address, and the #. if and when u call them it would probably b a good idea 2 have a list of questions 2 ask each parlor so that u wont get nervous and 4get wat u wanna kno!! ask them how long they have been in bizness and blah blah...hope this helped!!

i live in california and i was wondering how much it cost to get ur belly pierced.Do most places numb it and does it usually bleed a lot? i am going to get it done next weekened and i had a few questions!!im so excited!do you have to get a plain barbell or can you get a dangely one? thanks! xoxo

I am only 11 years old but I was wondering is it safer to get ur belly button pericd with a hoop ar a barbell? and I was wondering if it hurt cause i heard from alot of people that it didnt but i want to make sure so i really hope that u responed cayse i want 2 get it done before my friend does lol

hey im 13 an i might get my belly pierced, ive done it millions of times by myself and my dad might take me to get it done but he still debating bcuz he thinks im still a lil young, and he wanted me to find out how much it cost. sOoOo, for one, do ne of u think 13 is too young to get it pierced <again lol>, for 2, i live in wa does anyone kno any really good an cheap places to get it done, for 3, if u buy ur own barbell to use seperate will it cost less, an for 4 can u even do that?

Hi e'rbody. My name is Taylor and I'm 14 next Tuesday. Anyways, my mother has agreed to let me get my belly button pierced if i can get a 4.0 on my report card. Well i think that this quarter will be the one. My question isn't will it hurt. My question is what's the best way to clean it once i get it? i want by belly button pierced and i think I'm finally persuaded my mum to let me have it done. i am 14 and i can be allergic to some silver colored metals (nickel ect...) can you get it done with a gold bell bar?? how much does it cost (england plz) does it hurt thanks
