I got a tat two days ago across my knuckles and then across my lower back. but neither of them is scabbing up or even look like they are undergoing a healing process. Did my tattoo artist not make the tattoo deep enough?

the healing process depends alot on your bodies natural ability to heal , some people heal faster than others do . the tattoo needle penetrates the skin at no more than 1/16 of an inch (about the same as a light scratch, only alot of them close together) the scabbing that forms comes not from blood but from blood plasma and the platelettes in the blood if you are keeping the tattoo clean and somewhat moist with ointment like a&d or biacitracin whiping off all excess ointment that doesn't penetrate the skin you should be fine. if it is still seeping clear fluid or bleeding 3 or 4 days after the tattoo has been applied applied use a light gauze bandage and the ointment and re-visit your artist and show him it is still seeping fluid.
