Dawn dish soap left on for five minutes will kill fleas.

Halls throat lozenges, Laundry detergent and salt dries out and kills fleas and eggs.

You can also use Borax Detergent on carpets and funiture. Just sprinkle it on rug it in wait a few hours and the vacuum.

Permethrin is safe for general use and is deadly toxic to Ticks

Pennyroyal, the herb is supposed to but it's hard to find...My vet says anything that lathers will kill the fleas, even your own shampoo, but it's got to be a continuous thing...due to the eggs hatching.
PS...If you've never seen a flea egg, they're a black tiny dot like like this "." small dot & hard. If you find one pick it up on a white paper & squash it with something until it bursts....you will see blood.

I don't even leave the dish soap on for 5 minutes and it works.  Start at the head first so the fleas do not invade the dog's eyes and ears.  It's the only thing I use.
