Whites have never changed, Its in there nature to hate and conquer. North Africa(Egypt), where a lot of masonic symbols are derived from, was robbed and destroyed buy whites, and these people would never give back to blacks that had held them as the Great Builders and Great Minds of the world, because that would mentally and spiritually set Black people free and white masons who know the truth of there history are not accepting that in no way shape or form. So when Prince Hall and 14 other African-American men where made masons white masons knew their time was becoming short

WHY DO WE (BLACK) PEOPLE NEED TO  ASSOCIATE OURSELVES WITH WHITE AMERICA? WHY DO WE NEED TO BE ACCEPTED BY THEM? WHO REALLY CARES WHAT THEY THINK OR FEEL ABOUT US? WE ARE CREATED BY GOD, HE IS THE ONLY TO ASSOCIATE YOURSELF WITH, AND HE IS THE ONLY ONE BESIDES YOURSELF  THAT NEEDS TO ACCEPT US. IF YOU INTEND TO DO GOOD, JUST DO IT WITHOUT  WHITE AMERICA'S APPROVAL,BECAUSE YOU WILL NEVER GET THEIR APPROVAL AND YOU DO NOT NEED IT.

Prince Hall Masons and "White" masons are beginning to let go of past racial anger and mutual recognition is happening all over the USA; the SOUTH being the slowest to change for obvious reasons.  Freemasonry is sectioned off much like Churches on Sunday morning in America.  As a Black Freemasonry I have (for the most part) encountered respectful "White" brethren;  usually extending tokens of brotherly affection when deemed prudent.  Freemasonry is only a reflection of the culture in which it operates.

Sorry, but this is a QUESTION:  I am a professor who is searching the history of a famous Black Mason in the West, James Pressley Ball. A photographer, he founded - or helped found - more than one Black Masonic Lodge in Montana and Oregon, at least.  he was also active in Cincinnati.  Does anybody have any information about him, his son, James Pressley Ball, Jr., or his daughter-in-law, Laura Ball (of Hawaii and Seattle)?  Many thanks for all you Masons out there.

If all do there true history, you would know that Solomon was black. So was King Arthur and Jesus (See Revalations 1:14-15). Also, not to offend anyone but, in my opinion a mason is not of GOD its under His shadow which is Satan. There shouldnt be any Black masons, because we as blacks are GODs chosen which is why we have no stake in America (The Devils kingdom). Our Kingdom is when GOD returns and destroy all of the wicked including all that are part of this "Illuminati". Did you know that the most famous Mason, Albert Pike (1809-1891), was also the founder of the KKK? Did you also know that his statue is on the Federal Grounds of DC? Oh yes!!! Did you know that he was also a confederate General who had slaves and was arrested for treason but was pardoned by fellow mason President Andrew Johnson who met with him in the White House the very next day? Did you know that the White House was named after the founder of the evil Illuminati, Adam Wieshaupt (Pronounced wise how-t which means "White chief")Did you know that in 1871 Andrew Pike wrote the Game plan for how to enforce the New World Order inwhich 3 World Wars had to take place? (2 World Wars have passed as he instructed and the 3rd one is on its way). He said in his letter in 1871 that WWIII had to involve the Moslems and the Zionist (Jews) annihilating each other to know end (sounds like Jeruselam today to me).  Did you know that recently a man was shot in his head during a secret masonic ritual out in Long Island? Before you decide to become a follower (Black Mason) make sure that you know who you are actually following, and its not GOD....

I think it is unfortunate that some people think masonry is evil.  It is no more evil than football teams/games, cable tv, lotto, casinos, police, judges, or modern universities.  Evil is in the eye of the beholder. Masonry is NOT evil.  Its a great fraternity that teaches lessons of charity, truth, justice, and love through its symbolism.  I think its sad when non-masons make judgment statements about the masons. Its just not true.

In order for us to be united black/white we must first lead by example in each lodge and show the ones that say they are true and square what masonry really means love for our fellow brothers and sisters respect and maybe then this world fraternaty can be known as a force of good instead of being looked at as evil and unjust.open your hearts brothers and lets unite for a cause that is worthwhile the true light that we say we are searching for ,practice what you preach instead of being swallowed up into the abyss of hate, get it together.

I'm thinking of joining the black masons, and often wonder if both black and white masons teach the same things. i guess there's only one way to find out, it's hard to believe that those with the truth are going to let it (truth about history) out after all these years, but those who have it are going to have to give the truth up sooner or later. the only way i see to get it is to progress in the masons.

What makes all of us human is the fact that we can reason intelligently.  The only thing that could be said to be in our nature are fear and reason and for most humans fear and reason are in a constant struggle against one and other. It's FEAR that dictates the thoughts of "hashim" and "brothawhoscares" and REASON that dictates what is really evident. I'M a decedent of a long line of "white" Masons and my Grandfather who was a 33rd degree council member believed in tolerance. I happened to know being a direct decedent that my Grandfather owned the literature of "black" Masons and that he held it in the highest regard (he had none of "pikes" if there is any) and that he would involve himself with charitable functions in direct alliance with "black" Masons. Though irrelevant to the point He also argued many times with fellow Masons the fact that Jesus though divine he may have been was a descendant of Palestine and was NOT WHITE. It is also reason that dictates that Jesus is of course not of any other race then the one he is descended from. I think it is appropriate to mention that the true founder of the K.K.K. Nathan Bedford Forest was actually a strict southern Baptist and an out spoken "anti-mason" Who claimed, like many people who are fearful and unreasonable, That it was satanic.

The white men of Masonary think its just like America, made for white men by white men. They hate the fact that we as black men are finding our way to the light. As the joke they tell goes: "If you want to hide something from a black man, where do you put it?" "IN A BOOK" knowledge is the key!!!

Interesting. I think people are getting a little too far when they say anything is all "evil" or all "good". Nothing is that, but what is helpful is that when organizations produce more good than "bad". From observing, I do believe that organizations are a reflection of that culture. Anyway, I am enjoying some readings at the moment on Mason history. I believe we all most search for ourselves for knowledge. Most of us have this heard mentality because we accept many things for face value.  Anyway, don't believe everything you hear, read, listen and be patient and think for youself for some answers. It's funny because I notice many members in certain "brotherhoods" know as less than those that are not members but many assume they know everything. Know one knows everything. I don't believe there are meetings where there are people that chant "world domination, world domination".
But, people are people, and some few people can make an organization look bad, just like with everything else.

Grand Lodge of England (G.L.E.), generally recognized as the Mother of all Masonry, saw fit to grant recognition to Prince Hall Masonry in this country. Yet, there are lodges in this country that refuse, to this day, to accept the G.L.E. acknowledgment that Prince Hall Masons are legitimate, and still continued to bar black men from entering their lodge rooms. "Racial segregation has existed in Freemasonry for centuries, as I'm sure that all of us would agree, White lodges today would never admit a black man to membership.  Integration of the Lodges will only cause Prince Hall Lodges to lose its identity as did our schools, neigborhoods and businesses during 1960’s integration.

A mason is supposed to be a trustworthy, God fearing and wise individual. No color was placed on this principle.  A man is a man, white or black and a mason is a mason. Animals see things in different shades of the same color. Human beings are the only beings on this earth that are able to see things in color. So when I hear a person refer to a man as a black or white mason, It only proves to me that persons insecurities and short comings, to which resembles that of the animal.  So i say to those profanes out there judge a mason not by his color but by his good works.

One of the qualifications of a man desiring to become a Freemason was that he needed to be "free born".  During the early days of American Colonization, most if not all black people were either slaves, just released from slavery or had a close kinship to slavery.  They therefore were disqualified from becoming a Freemason.  Prince Hall, an English born black who was not a slave was initiated into an American Army traveling lodge, as were some of his black Englishmen.  When the traveling army left, Prince Hall had no Lodge and therefore petitioned England for permission to start his own lodges which he did.  These lodges are common for black men.  Today, white lodges are accepting black lodges in acts of true brotherhood and fraternal friendship.  Progress is being made in this area more rapidly in norther states of course although there will come a time when the distinction will be a thing of the past.  I for one have sat in a so called white lodge with fellow black brethren and am proud to know that there were no differentiating from one race to another, we were all Brother Masons striving to be better men, fathers, citizens and neighbors all laboring under the watchful eye of the Almighty.

It is said that mason make good men better. It never said that it makes  white or black men better so if you is a man and you are an mason than it shouldn't matter what color you are. If I see an white mason and he can give me the proper signs and token I will talk but I know as of now that there is some boundaries but i hope in the future that we will be as one in this MASONIC WORLD.

I am a brother of the Prince Hall Masonic Family. Here in the south the segregation is from the white majority member lodges and members of those lodges themselves have said that their Grand Lodge does not permit them to meet, gather, or mingle with the Prince Hall Family. My lodge sees a Mason as a Mason. All brothers under the same eye in the same light.

I personally believe in Unity, if we could all unite, black and white, things would be great, but... it's not going to happen; because there is to much hate rooted in america! This country was first romped by Native Americans, then whites, blacks were brought to work the land (even some races of whites), you could only expect what happens after this, archeologically... none of us are native to this country, but yet when you get a lot of people together, of different skin complexion, there is gonna be a problem or two! Especially, the one where one tries to conquer another, as if it were a game. Life is not a game. Freemasonry is a way of life, and of course... is not a game. If you are a mason, you do not treat others like their life means nothing at all, you help your fellow man, rather than hurt them. Masons-you know what i mean! We need leave the past in the past, and move to the future, seeking more light! AND.......FOR THOSE WHO THINK NEGATIVELY ABOUT MASONRY, YOU CAN'T ALWAYS JUDGE A BOOK BY A FEW PAGES IN IT... STOP HATIN. hOLLA BACK. 1!

Little do you all know that the reason that Black Masons and White Masons are seperated today is becuase they both have a Grand Lodge and someone has to give up their power if they combine.  Years ago they may have had different reasons but that is the reason now.  You know people love power and the people that have it are not going to give it up.

PHA doesn't just have black masons in the affiliation...they have white and Hispanics also.I've visited all-white PHA lodges. We are a NON-RACIST affiliation..that's why we are the ONLY affiliation on military bases across the world.Alot of PHA anf White lodges recognize each other today...there's still some in the south that dont, because of racism, but they will "try" a PHA brother and vise versa.I think the things is with the white lodges in the south is that they're stuck on their tradition so hard that it's hard for them to do "work",functions, business, etc. with us,but it's getting better. Now as far as these "clandestine" brothers and sisters of the Fraternal Order (i.e.,International,Black AF&AM lodges,etc..),....that's another story.

Did you know that the G in the masons symbol, is a G that stands for genetics. Ever since Greece and Rome and even Napolian, when they discovered that they are a genetic de-evolution which comes from lack of trantric love-making an pro-creating. Search: Bob Hemmitt. They discovered that the Elohims (the black people) where the orignal forms of the primordial black ether genetic which makes up all things and is regulated by the pineal gland (Melanin center) in the brain (One must breath slow to use it and state immortal. One inhalation a minute.)These Caulkaziods know this, and many other things about the original black race, and other things like that our genetics can go throught all 13 densities of light which is the same density as the sun. Things like the philadelphia project (Philadephia means: pineal gland in greek) Where set up to test there people and our people genetics, there was one man who lived through it, his name exscapes me as I write this, but this in the book "Nothing in this book is true but it exactly how it is" it tell of this man, and how he time travel to the time when they had done the experiment again. Montak project. In Kemet these Secret Societies, Masons, skull and bone etc. Would ritualisticly eat on old Kemetic kings flesh in hopes that they would find was to gather this power that can live past 2012, the photonic belts. This will increase the suns density, increasing the light speed of all, and killing those without a loving heart and who are of a weak genetic. When light speed is fast, and one fast themself, they become light, and when you become as light you attract the forms of light that reflect who you are, thus making your own reality. They can rape and pillage all they want, but in the times to come they must answer to the energy of all(The universe), the big sun (Sirius B), and the people of the sun.

Love, peace, and happiness forever.

We all know that racism still exist, and as for a black man like myself, it is very hard to overcome some of them racial obstacles. But us as Masons should be the ones setting the examples through OUR BROTHERLY LOVE. Yes it is true that SOME OF US (blacks and whites) do not associate, but it needs to stop!!! Are there any "white" lodges who accept Prince Hall lodges as regular, yet still do not accept black members into their lodge? Sure there are. It is ironic that such a respectable organization that teaches about charity, brotherly love and the such can have such a huge fallacy. But then again it is only a microcosm of the American society. My opinion of Prince Hall Masonry is just African Americans trying to be a part of something which they could not, so in turn had a White man create something very similar. No one can be absolutely sure of ALL of the rituals and secrets that were taught to Prince Hall and the accuracy of them. Also, why doesn't freemasonry teach Christianity?

All that Masonry, religion, fraternities, etc. is doing is dividing us. I don't think black people have any business becoming a Mason. Since slavery, blacks have always wanted to be like "massa". One way was to become a Mason. But why would a black man want to think at 33 1/3 when with our supreme minds, we can expand to the FULL 360 degrees.
Why keep the truth to yourselves when you can share the knowledge with everyone.
The Masonic Lodge is something whites let us have so they can further control us for another 300 years. Ever heard of Willie Lynch? Does anyone know if he was a Mason?

I was working one day in the basement of a government building. This gentleman came into my area and I noted that he had a masonic symbol on a chain around his neck. I said "I see you are a brother" he said looking at the masonic symbol I wear on a chain around my neck "yes I am". This brother was looking for one of the people I worked with, so I told him, that he was not hear at the present, but would be back soon. I talked with the brother and told him about the eating establishments in the area as it was lunch time. I felt right at home and a brotherly kinship talking with this brother and I think he felt the same. Though this brother was black and I am white I only recognized the fact that he was a masonic brother. I think that it is time that we as human beings and certainly as brother Masons put down the chains of hate. I need not know the color or other outward appearances of my fellow brother, I just need to know that he is my brother. I need to find and have fellowship with him and to help him in any way that I can. Come on brothers do we continually fight old wars of hate, or do we progress as humans and brother Masons and seek more light in a brotherly attitude. As for me I will continue to try to do good to all that I come in contact with and especially a brother free Mason as I have sworn to do before my God, despite his outward appearance.

We are living in a time where knowledge of self must reign supreme. And all that is in the dark must now come to the light this said people you must know that first of all there are many different levels of freemasonry.the evil part of the craft is not practised by the laymen mason or blue lodge common mason.but it is practised by those of the higher degrees and those who are of the illuminati bloodlines.the common mason seeks to improve knowledge of self only after this is acheived can he move on to play  the small roll he plays in keeping the big picture moving.he will never exceed his rank only certain masons from certain bloodlines get chosen to play major roles such as the manipulation of the world thru politrix.case in point people like tony blair and george h.w  bush and his son g.w.bush both very high  ranking masons of the skull and bones order.and actually there is no real public discussion of the order at all.Black or white isnt an issue anymore with some frats but it is very much an issue with the illuminati for there are very few if any blacks involved but   one prominant black who was a mason was louis armstrong, another was miles davis miles became a knight templar before he died.

I am a Bro. of the order of Masonry and it's sad that we are judged as being evil and worshipers of Satan, by those that don't know anything about Masonry. It's funny how the world blames us as evil doers and followers of the Dark one and how that nothing good comes from us. Evil is out there and there are those that are not Brothers committing murder, violence among others, raping women and children, kidnapping, robbing banks, and other mindless acts. When people don’t understand what goes on, they seem to assume the worst and what you think goes on, it tends to spread, and the reality is that your assumptions are wrong. Every person has a dark side in them and it’s up to that person to control that evil and try not to find a scapegoat  to try and make an excuse, for something that they themselves do. As for the black and white thing, that’s something that’s always going to go on. I’m glad that there are whites that affiliate with us and we come together and enjoy ourselves. Before we try to get other races to accept us, we as people have to accept our own people. There are whites that hate whites, blacks hating blacks, etc…  How can get the other races to truly accept us, when we really can’t except ourselves?

We as Mason come from the same place, a holy Lodge. Their are alot of non-masons speaking down on my fraternity and it's crazy, when I was young in my travels I use to let it bother me, but as I got older and more firmly grounded on my square, I see the only reason they are speaking like this is a simple one, they HATE THE FACT that they are those WHO COULD NOT withstand the jurney that it takes to become like me a "TRUE BLUE MASON"!

SO MOTE IT BE

before black and white masons can get along black masons have to learn to get along.  members of prince hall and other black grand lodges have to realize and accept that they do exsist.  prince hall brothers should who feel as such should stop and think,  that if he were not accepted by his respective lodge, prince hall grand lodge might not have ever existed.  if it were today he would not even be reconized by a orginization bearing his name.(you can not be a member of a lodge you help to establish!)

I am a "white" Mason in Texas. There has been nothing to keep me from having a Prince Hall Mason as one of my best friends.  There also hasn't been anything to keep black men from being a Mason in a Texas Masonic lodge.  Our GM encourages us to be diverse and he lives it.  One good example is lodge 1390. You can do a search for Texas Grand lodge and locate it there.  Both groups have common goals to be better men, serve our fellow man and aid to those distressed.  I would hope that the focus of our lives aren't the history of men gone wrong, but where did we go right and build upon that.

I RECENTLY HEARD ON THE RADIO THAT BLACK MASONS WERE JUST PUPPETS IN THE REAL GAME RAN BY THE WHITE MASONS AND JEWS. AND THE SAME WERE SAID FOR THE EASTERN STARS. THIS PERSON ALSO STATED THAT MASONRY RUN MOST OF THE WORLD THRU ITS SECRET SOCIETY INCLUDING THE ENTERTAINMENT WORLD OF BLACK HIP HOP. HE EVEN WENT SO FAR AS TO SAY THAT THE COMMON TIES THAT BIND THE MASONS ARE GREED AND DL HOMOSEXUALITY. HE WENT SO FAR AS TO CALL SOME BIG TIME RAPPERS HOMOS. SUCH AS 50 CENT, JAY Z, AND P DIDDY. HE ALSO INCLUDED MUSIC COMPANY EXECS TOMMY MOTT OLA AND CLIVE DAVIS. SO, WHATS THE DEAL WITH THAT. WHY DO U HAVE TO BE SOME TURNED OUT HOMOSEXUAL TO GET DOWN WITH THE MASONS AND EASTERN STARS?

I ALSO WANT TO SAY THAT I AM COMPLETELY IGNORANT ON THE THIS TOPIC AS WITH MOST OTHER "SECRET" GROUPS SUCH AS COLLEGIATE FRATS AND SORORS. I JUST WANNA KNOW THE TRUTH.

Price Hall "masons" are not true Freemasons.  Prince Hall was a black slave who was initiated one night on a beach near Savannah, Georgia, by two drunk Hessan mercenaries during the Revolutionary War.  It takes almost a month to learn the secrets and ceremony of just the 1st degree!  It takes over 6 months of studying to earn the 3rd degree of Master Mason.  There is no way on heaven or hell that a couple of drunk Germans could have told Prince Hall ALL the secrets of Freemasonry in ONE NIGHT.  Blacks cannot join the true Freemasons because they do not fall under one of the major rules.  Blacks are not "freeborn."  Most blacks in the U.S. was decedents of slaves, and thereby not allowed to join the order.
That is why black "masons" and white Masons don't get along.  Prince Hall "masons" are a farce.

What everyone need to realize is that masonry is like a fraternity of brotherhood. There is no other fraternity as big as masonry and there is none that brings you closer to god as this one has brought. Whenever I need anything from a cup of milk or a place to stay I know that I always can count on my brothers. No matter if they are white or black if they are true to the obligations that they took in the presents of all mighty GOD they will help a brother In need to the fullness of their extent.

I do not understand why the color of someone's skin matters inside any form of Masonry. I am a  young white Jewish girl in my chapter. I chose Judaism at a young age and it has never mattered inside the chapter. Except when meals come and I don't eat certain foods so that I can stay Kosher. I am the youngest member in my district. It is hard enough being 19 when everyone else is 55 and up, but I have managed to take place at the station of Adah in my chapter. I look around during meetings some times and wonder where my chapter will be in 20-30 years. White kids my age have no interest in the Order of the Eastern Star or in Masonry and yet Prince Hall chapters that are based through Colleges flourish.

Should so many OES chapters die just because Georgia divides whites and blacks? I did not know when I first joined that it was divided the fact we all came together to promote good will in all man kind and to help those in need is why I joined.

I feel my ideas are often ignored during the meetings. I try to make us more up to date with using the Internet, and most of all I asked that we buy a new Georgia flag, since ours is the old flag not to mention is very old and worn. I figured since they were going to buy a new American flag, why not get all of our flags up to date?

My Worthy Matron said that it is the masons lodge and we had no say in buying a new flag. Then a man who is also in the lodge said that he did not recognize the new flag and that there was no need to buy a new one since our lodge does not have a Prince Hall chapter.

When I see black college guys wearing the Square and Compass I greet them as "hello Brother, I'm Sister of chapter ###". Far as I see he is my brother, not just fraternally but as my fellow sibling as children of God.

The Grand Chapter's theme this year is Native American, and yet all they say is Indian this or Indian that. I thought I was going to scream at my chapters official visit. I have lots of Indian friends, they are Indian because they are from India, and I assure you my Indian friends do not have dream catchers and feathers as our WGM seems to believe.

I really enjoy being a member of the OES, but  how can our fraternity grow and help society if we can't even have meetings together?!

I want Prince Hall and "White" Masonry to come together, can't all of these elderly people see that our beloved Order is dying?!?

Next meeting is friends night, perhaps I will invite a WM from a Prince Hall chapter. It seems like I'm going to have to do things like this I am the future, I may not be able to change things PH has been around for 103 years in the OES, but I feel I have to do something for the good of the Order.

As your sister in our great order, I ask for ideas and suggestions so that all forms of Masonry may come together, as brothers and sisters of God.

Fraternally,
M_Ford_Photo@hotmail.com

Greetings! I must inform you of a few things. First, we as black people do not have to gain the favor of whites when it comes to the masonic teachings. WE ARE THE KEEPERS OF THE MASONIC RITUALS. Whites need us to gain further knowledge about the "arts". The white grand masters of Europe know this to be true. All of these rituals are based on a "mind-over-matter" account. The Egyptians were first given the knowledge of "building" using mind-over-matter by the council which was appointed by God to oversee earth. The bible refers to this council as the "twenty-four elders". The elders instructions came from the Great Book (the book of life). God gave them just a small piece of knowledge from this book. This small piece of knowledge made Egypt a power on earth. Even before this took place, the elders used the knowledge to "form a man" from the dust of the earth. I submit to you that there were two different men, one created by God, and the other was formed from the the dust of the ground. The elders formed the other man, which was not a perfect invention. This man was weak in his ability to think, which allowed a higher being to enter the mind of this man. That was Satan. The white man are this invention. They are NOT devils, but contain the virus within them which is Satan. They need us to help rid themselves of this virus. The elders have messed up making this other man, and have been trying to get the whiteman to be perfect. That is why whites have been allowed to dabble in the arts to help make themselves better human beings. What better way to learn how to be in harmony with all over peoples of the earth, than to learn it from the ones who were first people of earth-the blackman. Whites cannot achieve their goals of perfection without the blackman. This is why they need black masons. In our minds contain the secrets of the arts, and very few blackmen understand this. They need us to survive. Notice in the book of revelations it talks about God sitting on a thrown with the twenty-four elders round about him and God had a book in his hand that the elders were NOT worthy enough to touch. This is very significant because the elders did mess up the small knowledge given to them. THINK...........more later.PEACE

Masonry, first in foremost starts in the heart of the individual. That person must seek true Masonic light and hold fast to the tenets of the fraternity. Masonry takes good men by the hand and makes them better. Therefore it is a must that we set aside all differences to work towards one common goal. Remember we are here to serve GOD, respect your neighbor, and love yourself.

I have an interesting question to poise to all of the erudite brethren on this forum. I have done much reading about the Freemasons. I understand that people should have their own games, clubs and friends ... or what have you (sic) and typos aside, I would challenge each of you to educate yourselves a little better. Many of you have massive grammar issues(which indicates gaps in schooling/education) , and interesting gaps in historical and factual information itself. Black, white, red or yellow, good or evil (sic) isn't the issue. Of all the groups that have had problems on this earth, women have been the MOST oppressed and "left out" group in history. Whenever we DO attain something of greatness, it has been distorted and "prostituted", or destroyed. If you want to debate a real, and telling question, why is it that women are not allowed to be masons? Especially in the years since it became "speculative". Only Wives and daughters and sisters are allowed to join secondary groups "if they have a male member who is a mason". Now, if this is incorrect, it is because the women's groups are so few and far between that you can't find them. THAT is a more telling condition of a society or group. How it treats those that bear their next generation. I would love to see someone answer that without the standard "inferior" or "weaker" sex drivel. Thank you gentlemen!

I have believed that most people in history have been painted white by white people, to suit thier idea of what they looked like. I have a friend that wanted to join our lodge. I may have mis-spoken, he has made racial remarks I found offensive. I told him that he could never be a mason with attitudes like that. That the mason god is one god and that there are lodges with the koran or other books in the place of the bible. Where I was wrong was I gave him no room to change. Peoples attitudes change - look at me I assumed no racial bias in the masons. I hope I am right, I know I was wrong.

It is not of a mans color of which we shall deem him a good man or a bad man, but of his merits.I search Freemasons out in my travels, 3 times around for those enlightened and have found fraternal love from masons of all races and colors , we are one in the obligations and one with our God we choose to worship. Freemasons are all religions and No religion, all colors and No Color , you have to be one to understand but then again all were not meant to be Masons.

The answer isn't in the question it lies in the silent contemplation of the man stumbling over the question. The MOST HIGH allowed hues to be displayed and our fall into matter. The aim of every man is to awaken and see nolonger black white or any other hue. The ability to see the divine in everyone and live peacefully and tolerate the ignorant is the way of peace. THE MASON who has found that, has perfected HIS CRAFT,only in the ways of wisdom, but with wisdom you must have understanding. Then, you move past perfection and receive a name that only he who recieves it, knows.

Okay guys some of you have went off the deep end.  I am a black male in an almost all white lodge.  In about an ~40 states there is recognition between all masons but only those under a grand lodge or prince hall lodge.  If you do not have an appropriate charter then you are a not a real mason.  In many lodge masons are old men (black, white, hispanic, and all other) who sit around and talk business.  A lodge is a place for you to have a home away from home and network with individuals.  I am moving back to Texas myself (Richardson) and hopefully I will find time to continue my "fraternal duties".  For all who do not know...all black fraternities were found by prince hall masons.  Change only occurs if you allow it or work towards it.

With all due respect, I do not know much about Masonic practices. However, purporting to be a Godly organization is at the least appalling. God is holy. Whether you're a black or white, there is no divine order from the All Mighty. As for the racial divide in the organization(s), there will, and should never be any partnering between the black and white masons, because the whites are still in denial about what has been stolen over the centuries, and what they're claiming as their discoveries, and their creations. Why would a black man want to be apart of an organization that is godless?

Many black and white masons do not associate with each other because they are not TRUE masons at all.  How can a mason speak of faith, hope and charity for mankind and then discriminate?  That is not masonry.  It is hypocrisy.  In the past, racial laws identified blacks as not being a whole part of the human race which was the basis for the justification of slavery.  Many whites still view blacks as cargo because of this.  Many blacks despise whites because of actions taken by their ancestors and the continual propogation of racial non-sense.  Meeting on a common level and working together should have and still should change that way of thinking.  It is shameful and unmasonic if folks cannot get past those points.

This is for Blackpix.  I realize this reply is 2 years after you posted, but if you do come back here to read this message, I do have some information on the Ball family.  I have been researching Alice Augusta Ball, James Presley Ball, Jr.'s daughter.

The Balls lived in Honolulu from 1902 through 1904; James P Ball, Sr. was in poor health and they came to Honolulu for his health.  He died May 1904.  While in Honolulu, James, Jr. practiced law and Laura had a photography studio.  Alice and her sister Addie attended elementary school at Central School, which is still in existence. Alice's brother William was a clerk in their father's law office; her other brother Robert was a clerk at the Post Office.  At this time, it was less than 10 years after the overthrow of the Hawaiian monarchy.

The family went back to Seattle after JPB Seniors, death, except for Robert who stayed on in 1905 working at the post office.

Alice was the first woman of any color to graduate from college in Washinton state with a Bachelor's decgree in pharmacologoy.  She returned to Honolulu, where she earned a Master's degree in science at the Universtiy of Hawaii; she taught at the university in 1916.  She discovered an early remedy for the effects of leprosy while doing research for her Master's thesis.

In late 1916, she became ill and returned to Seattle where she died on December 31st at the age of 23.  Her research was then commandeered by the president of the University of Hawaii and he got the credit for her discovery until just recently when the truth came out due to some diligent research by a few dedicated people at UH.

As i was reading these comments I couldn't help but notice that we as Americans are still set on seperating each other into colors.  It's obvious that if we saw people for their character instead of their color and blended with each other like we should, we could get along, but there are far too many people who's stubborness get's the better of them, and in turn they are the negative influences of everyone they can persuade to see their way.  I saw the same separation when I was in the US military, most people (black, white and latino) banded together in their associated colors...this is wrong and very hard to break...it's almost like a safety blanket that they need.  It only takes a few people to start to make a difference.  I read "brothawhocares" blog and through his words he pointed all the Negative deeds that were commited by white people.  Well, first off, "White People" is a very broad term.  If your talking about someone who lacks color in their skin then thats a huge population of this world that would have had nothing to do with the black person's history.  Take for instance myself, I'm of German Decent...I can trace my family back for 800 years there and I know they had nothing to do with it, but know that have been an American citizen for almost 65 years I'm labeled a "white person", and with that title I'm assumed to be racist and have contributed to the enslavement of the African people?  People, all I ask is that we put our differences aside for a moment and realize that we are all one..children of GOD...and that should be all that we are.  Make a positive influence on your families and friends and one day the future might take a turn for what it should have been since time began.  Do the right thing and unite.  I am a Professor of Human Differences at Harvard University and I continue after 50 years to help people to set aside their differences and unite!

I think the real question should be why cant black masons get along with each other, Prince Hall vs. all other Free and Accepeted brothers.  It all comes down to who is in "Control".  Brothers like their titles within the lodge but if we were all to come together much like white masons, just look around you only see one lodge hall per city with white masons, we will have to humble ourselfs!

KOTE hit the nail on the head when he said:
"ALL MASON ARE HERE TO ACHIEVE ONE COMMON GOAL, TO BE A BETTER MAN." To do this -- then we must let go of the past and combine the Grand Lodges into one.  I know there are people in both Grand Lodges that don't want the change.  These are the people we as good Masons need to educate and bring to the main stream.  These differences between our Lodges won't go away by themselves.  I know AND ASSOCIATE with brothers from both Grand Lodges.  It hurts me to say to my African-American Brother that he is not welcome in my Lodge.  Unfortunately, that is the same exact thing he says to me.  A Mason is a Mason no matter what race he may be.  Let's ope our hearts and minds once and for all.

This a Question What is a Mason and what is your purpose? Why are masons associated with evil? Is being a mason like being in a motorcycle club or a member of your local Elks Lodge? Why do people even care what a mason is or stand for?

My Grandfather was a master mason under prince hall from if I'm correct Mugla Alabama. Not once did he ever mention to me about racism in the Lodge, now on my own account I have talked to members of the Scottish Rite and they either denounced or acted as if Prince Hall did not exist, or that Prince Hall is only a blue lodge, yet I myself who is not a mason would have conversations with this man and he would act as if I'm talking from left field or ask me who told you that, where you learn that. My Grandfather passed before I decided I would like to join he would never tell me anything but he would always listen and say you should read this or watch this I take in information well.

I am from Chicago and there is not a problem with color there.

There are problems that exist in Chicago with color, but there are problems in the South that trump those that exist in Chicago.

The South is a different monster altogether; people in the South are settled with being settled and will possibly never move forward.

Freemason's are not designed to make friends with other lodges, rather we are designed to share brotherly love with one another. Neither, racism and separatism is a virtue of freemasonry. There is a always a 10% pool of bad in every organization...to include this one of freemasonry.

As was stated by bugtussle. A mason is a mason.

I am a white male and an active Prince Hall mason in Florida's Lake Hall Lodge #33.

The color of one's skin has no bearing on being a mason, period. Nor does it prevent one from being a member of one lodge or another. Even in a society such as ours there are occasionally men and women who choose to remain in the darkness and live with hatred in their hearts.

heres the deal. All of those who think that freemasonry is a rip off or a part of a devil cult is because you feel like you are not good enough to become one.  All you have to do is "2B1Ask1".  further more, your mommies or daddies probably had a bad dealing with a mason or past mason, and doesn't want you to become on of the "devil worshipers"  if you have read the bible you would have found out that all of the masonic teachings come from the same bible your preacher or father or brother, preaches out of every Sunday morning.

This is to Brotha who cares, it seems as though you have done a lot of interner reading i which i have no problem with but to state that masonry is evil and YOU ARE NOT A MASON you have no grounds to make a factual statement im am a 32nd  degree mason who studies constantly and any mason will know that the statements that you are making are wrong. a mason still has free will and can do what he wants to do but that does not mean that Masonry in a whole is evil. I respect your opinion but thats all that you can state are opinions.

As a white man, I'm probably going against the "white man grain" here but brothawhocares makes sense.  I've researched and read about the African continent...home to man.  And, the first man was a black man.  The white man is a decendent of the black man.  African blacks taught european whites basic hygiene in the 11th century.  Later, in the 1600, 1700 and 1800  hundreds, european white men set out to rule Africa with their european colonies.  The Africans possessed more strength, courage and dignity then these weaker (mentally and physically) white men.  What is not widely known is that several African kings had their tribes capture many of these white men.  While a few were killed, many more were actually enslaved to these kings and their tribes.  Stripped of both their dignity and clothing.  In addition, when european white men on these "conquering" expeditions in Africa encountered many of these tribes, the already enslaved european white men actually wanted to stay part of the tribe and not return to Europe.  These enslaved white men "knew their place"; naked, on their hands and knees at the feet of these African kings.  Many of these naked white slaves were actually personal servants for these African kings.  Unfortunately, white men of today do not want to acknowledge this truth.  The reality is we all know this to be true, we just will not admit it to ourselves or anyone else.  I, for one, am willing to admit it...I admire the black man in this country, and throughout the world, for the strength, dignity and courage he possesses.  This is why, if I join the Free Masons, it will be a Prince Hall chapter.

first: black and while masons do associate and yes they do have different Grand Lodge bases (Prince Hall & Washington) It would be better if there were only one but a mason is a mason. Also the disassociation is by both sides and not just white masons. When the Grand Lodge of Hawaii reached out to the Prince Hall Grand Lodges only 4 Grand Lodges wish to have formal relations with the Grand Lodge of Hawaii and I believe they did not want cross-membership. The time will come when the two will all see each other as brother masons and visitation among the two will be accepted in all states. I think the separation is becoming  more a social and culture thing than a race thing.

first off hello to all, ive been a mason for a little over 5 years now ive enjoyed the fellowship and chance to meet many people and as in all walks of life one finds the ills of the unjust, i went in the lodge with the idea that all were welcome , i had hoped that i might have a chance to meet and get to know fellows that otherwise might have never put there hand out in a jesture of fellowship. well to cut the story short ive since stoped going to meetings and found the issues such as this web page brings less than just .I feel that all lodges sould extend fellowship regardless of race, were all men  and should respect all . myself caucasian by skin color but my soul is in the place of all men free . free and void of the desire to limit anyone ,so to all fellow mason black ,white , to all i will extend my hand. and would hope the grand lodge would do its part to set this matter right.

I cant believe that blacks are still begging for acceptance from an organization that systematically practices genocide & racism. I wonder if they know that Bush & Co. are freemasons. They aren't BIGOTS right. Wrong, you know what they're about. They allow blacks into the club like Powell ,Samboleeza Rice & other selfhating blacks & people of color to help in their own selfdestruction . Black freemasons are 21st. century selfhating house slaves with a plantation mindset PERIOD!!!!!

Hey, I read Revalations 1:14-15 and no offence but can you show me where it say Jesus is black? And Solomon wasn’t he Jewish ( I know Jewish people and there the same colour as me) Because that’s what I was told and it supports that in songs of song the first one when he wanted to have kids to another woman that wasn’t Jewish.  In addition, what is meant, “you are Gods chosen” it was the Jews and know its Christians (is that’s what you meant).  (Learn about Constantine) btw im not a Supremes or mason im an all colour Christian Jesus die for all not just one race Jew and gentile alike.

Moreover, the masons probingly did steal some of the Egyptian stuff maybe but the white masons and remember so Jews are masons as well and we all have3 had our time.

As I was told by my grandfather that the white men stolen the masonic knowledge from the Moors in Africa. The Europians changed the history in order uplift there race and to formed many secret organizations. They establish new laws in the United States Of America such as the constitution in which states you must be a free born man in order to be a member in any masonic lodge. If you are a son of slave or have 1/3 black you are not consider an American WASP in this country. That is why the white mason will not accept blacks into there lodges.

I would just like to briefly refute what was said by "brothawhocares"
brotha, you have not done your research either.  just to let you know, i am an eastern star myself, i was raised all around/in "the order" as we like to call it.  i am also a history major at Boston College and have had a passion for history my entire life, especially about Prince Hall Freemasonry, etc.  i won't necessarily use the exact terms here for the sake of time

if you did your history, you would know that the original Black Freemasons, with Prince Hall himself were granted their charter and permission to assemble as the first African Lodge by ENGLAND!!!! NOT THE WHITE AMERICAN LODGES!!!!

that in a nutshell should give anyone a clear reason y black and white masons in some places here do not get along, especially through history.  frankly, the stance from the black masonic family is that we'd love to be one in brotherhood/sisterhood with all but some don't meet us on that, call us invalid, etc... and frankly, that's their problem and their business.  they are separate entities in certain respects.  to try and hold black masons accountable for things that white masons do or have done, like the founder of the KKK is completely ridiculous.  and just as with any organization, the whole cannot always be held accountable for what one or a few do.  there is room, unfortunately, in societies such as this for ppl who go off and do their own thing.  to put that into perspective, look at Christianity!  look at Islam!  there are always ppl who claim to b down with something or believers in something and may even look like them but are "deviants."  the same can b said about all organizations and organized religions, etc.

we don't need validation from racists just like we didn't need their permission in the first place

i also find it funny how the people who always talk the most junk about how bad the order supposedly is, are not nor have they ever been members... and since it's a so called "secret society" how could you ever know anything about it truly, that being the case?

First of all I too wish not to offend anyone and I have just begun to travel. First of all it is my personal belief that Masonry began in a region that was inhabitited by dark skin people, and like a previous answer Solomen was black  who as we also know built the the Temple which would house the Ark of the Covneant. We also know that the european people who would have taken things such as religion as well as masonry and tried to imitate it(How clear of a copy can u get from a copy)would impose some of their own culture and beliefs into it. Which as history teaches us were prodomintly pagenistic at best. Which even so called christians of today still are caught in this web of deceat.

Good morning everyone,
I am not a Mason. I do understand why someone would want to become a Mason. Its because they have been hoodwinked, duped, and bamboozled. However, If they only knew the deep rooted evil behind the fraternity's inception, I feel that they would think twice about following this organization. If one has a true belief in the creator, God Almighty, then the Masons is the wrong place for him. The Mason's roots are in the Illuminati. A secret organization who's mission is world domination, and not Peace on earth and good will towards men. Please people, open your eyes wider. Seek out the truth. The Masons are pawns for the ant-Christ. I love all of you, including the Masons. The Masons are lost sheep. Please come back to God Masons!
