I was told that there are four books: the book of life/light(which is the bible), the book of dead, the book of air, and book of earth.  Your web page stated that all BoS are different, however, I was told that these four books basicaly make up the BoS, is there any truth to that statement?

Wicca is NOT a "book religion". Each coven or solitary witch either creates their own book of shadows or adapts another's, such as Gardner's, to their needs. There is no one book of shadows for all.                         So ,no, there is no truth to the statemant that 4 books make up the book of shadows .

The bible is a Christian religious text, not a Wiccan one, so there is no reason for it to be part of the BoS.  "The Book of the Dead" could refer to any of several things (The Egyptian Book of the Dead, The Tibetan Book of the Dead, etc) but none of them are Wiccan, either.  In thirty years of studying Craft, I don't recall ever hearing of "the book of air" or "the book of earth".

A Wiccan'sBoS will contain whatever that Wiccan thinks will enhance hir practice and understanding of Craft.  As such, an individual's book could, in theory, include any or all of the four books mentioned (the books of air and earth perhaps being that person's own names for sections), but it would be entirely the individual's personal choice.

I suspect Auntie's informant of knowing less than Auntie does about Wicca, but wanting to appear to know much more.

I also have never heard of a book of air or a book of earth.  In my BoS I do include a book of light.  I have my own personal reasons for this.  As far as I am concerned, all of my Book of Shadows is a book of Light, as everything I write expands my understanding and brings me in closer communion (pardon me) with the Divine.
