I am looking for a company which produces a chocolate confection (I think it is called "chocolate lace")which is a sheet of drizzled caramel dipped/covered in dark chocolate. It comes in thin sheets layered between tissue paper and I believe is packaged in a silver box.  I last saw this product in the 1960's or 70's.  Any information would be greatly appreciated.

I remember chocolate lace and I just made some.  I remember the company was in Vermont or New Hampshire.  It was a family owned business and they melted the sugar in a copper pot and had been doing it that way for years.  My mom never went through a holiday season without ordering lots of Chocolate lace.  I was on here looking for the chocolate lace, too.  ROSIE

Hey. You can go to Matthews 1812 House and look under either chocolate or candies and you'll find it.  Also, it's really reasonably priced.  Due to weather conditions, and the parishability of chocolate, the 2-day shipping costs could be more than the chocolate lace.  Enjoy!

The company that makes Chocolate Lace is in Bethel, Connecticut, 1-203-792-1234.

The Story of Chocolate Lace begins at the turn of the century in snowy Czarist Russia, where life at the court in St. Petersburg was filled with opulence for the privileged few.  During this elegant era, Eugenia Tay and her family celebrated the first snowfall of the year by drizzling melted carmelized sugar onto the newly fallen snow. The sugar quickly cooled and hardened into crisp, lacy patterns -ready to be dipped into a waiting pan of warm dark chocolate. The result was a special chocolate treat for the family and friends.
Enjoy.

Good luck.
