On sail boats - Hunter includes the tip of the bow pulpit..

Called LOA or Length over all

If you are Canadian and want to register your boat - It must be measured...

If your boat is 12 meters or less; You can measure it your self..

Over 12 meters It must be Measured by a Canadian Government approved Surveyor...

For Canadian measurement purposes; The measurements start from the tip of the bow to the stern not including the transom mounted outboard motor bracket, engine, jet pump etc...

It is unclear to me whether a swim platform is included; ought not to be, but sponsons are= permanently attached structures...

So in my view you prefer not; as there are implications for saying yes.,

You need to inquire with authorities in your jurisdiction as to what is included in their measurement requirements...

In my case If the bow pulpit where included in the measurement it would be 4" over 12 meters and require the official survey

Sincerely
Glenn Strazds
