just to point out, all these changes that arouse from the war in terms with relation to other countries is that even though these changes occurred Australia still associates with "enemy" countires till this day with other issues such as China and its need for uranium.its all about business...

Australia's relationship with the U.S strengthened after contributing to the Vietnam War.
This placed the U.S in a position that obligated them to assist Australia if we got into any trouble.
Further fear of communism also developed.
Realisation that U.S was not all powerful after losing the war. (search up 'SEATO' and 'ANZUS treaty') to find out how Australia wanted to be part a powerful alliance.

In Australia, conscription was introduced in 1964; two Moratorium Marches were held in protest of the war; Australian deaths; Vietnamese refugees came to Australia; fear of chemical weapons; public disturbance as it was the first war to be televised.

hope this answers your (assignment?) question, even though it is 4 years late!
