We are new in the breeding of bullmastiffs. We fell in love with our male, and got a female. She is too young to breed, but is in her first heat. She has been vet checked and tested for disease.
We are concerned that our male will not eat because of her scent.Treats, canned food won't start him eating normally. We are successful in keeping them from mating, with crate and panties.
What can we do for our male?

buy some chicken livers and cook them well with some water, dice them and let them cool, then mix some with the kibble and leave a small pile on top,if he won't eat it then take him for a picnic away from her and you'll find him eating well once his nose and brain think about somthing other than her, good luck,it's not a good way to make $ but a healthy litter of bullmastiff pups is an experiance of a lifetime, wait at least until her 3rd heat, and watch out for the wrong kind of puppy buyers, there are all kinds of kooks out there! good luck
