My 3 year old husky bit my 17 month old son on the face, my son was pulling on her so it was probably a defensive act.  Does anyone have a comment on the "a dog that bites once will bite again" theory?
(FYI female spayed)

Not likely to bite.  We've had our female husky for 8 years, and she has only "bitten" (more like nipped) in play and in defense/surprise to the kids falling on her.  Even then, it's barely noticeable, and scares the kids more than anything.  Even with play, she knows not to bite, and is amazingly gentle with children.

I have a a 4mth old male he tends to bite my 3 y/o daughter on the legs I am hoping he is only playing but am watching very carfully, he tends to bite more when she screams and yells you need to teach the child to not yell as it stirs the dog up

huskies are EXTREMELY gentle. my husky, even with her pups, was gentle and she has never hurt any one in the two years that I have owned her. Huskies are strong chewers and need to be taught young that people are not chew toys. You would have to hurt a husky VERY badly to make it try to hurt you. they are suprisingly patient with kids.

There mostly not like to bite but if they do

Our husky 2 years old , and think it would never bite anyone other than a cat.  We have a grandson that is two years old , and he gave our dog a haircut , and she did not bit him at all.

Again, dogs all breeds when they play they start to bite my terrier/corgi doesn't understand the concept of a playful bite and a aggressive. I would take your dog and give him a time out

Huskies are very gentle dogs. It is quite likely that your child just aggravated it and it was its way of stopping them. Dont be too concerned...i'd just say it was a one off

As i know about huskies because i have 3, huskies are very gentle.  I have a lot of younger siblings and none of my huskies bite any of them.  I have 3 huskies and 1 American Eskimo.  MY American Eskimo is terrified of men because of my father, he hit her when she was a Little puppy.  Now my American Eskimo bites everyone even Little kids.  Now what i am trying to say is someone might have hit your dog without you knowing or did something really bad to your Husky that made it bite your 17 month year old son. You should find out if someone did something to your dog.

Huskies are not gentle dogs, my Yorkie-poo was just killed by one 2 days ago, the husky bit him in the chest area......I don't think anyone should own a Husky!!! I would not trust a husky around a child!!

You need to make it VERY CLEAR to your dog that you dont tolerate any biting, as soon as you see your dog being rough with your child, At that moment slap the dog, if you wait till later, the dog wont know what it did wrong and wont learn.
